My ordered GLE has the Dashcam option added, and the description on the website says it is a forward facing camera. My question - is this a separate camera over an above the existing surround ones already included, or is this something that makes use of them. Does anybody know if there is a button to push (something that can be assigned to a button) in case you need to quickly record an event?
I am debating whether or not to add a secondary rear-facing camera, or if there is an option to record from all four surround cameras simultaneously (or planned for a future update), similar to BMW.

Nothing official has been announced, but coders are working on activation options if you do not have dashcam activated, but have the cameras/hardware to support it.

I have the dash cam on my 2021. Not sure if the camera is a stand alone or used for other thjbgs but I can clearly see I have at least 3 cameras facing out from my windshield. I bought an adapter to plug into the vehicle to attach a jump drive. It is always recording when the vehicle is on.
Could you please ID/link to adaptor you purchased? And where did you plug it into?

Why not just buy a USB C thumb drive? They are cheap and shorter than with the adapter....
This is what I use, but I usually put it in the center armrest USB-C port. This way it doesn't block the 12V power socket under the drive as shown here. I use it to record the dash cam and play music from it.

this is the memory card setup I'm getting. Dashcams continually overwrite data which can wear out normal memory cards/thumb drives that aren't intended for such use. Any old thumbdrive/memory card will probably do, but pretty inexpensive to get what this guy says is the best.
128 GB is probably overkill (could record up to 96 hours before overwriting) but will probably be the least expensive upgrade in my new 450.
