Model 2022 Update

Does anyone know when the model 2022 update (if any) will be announced and go in prod?

I assume some small details will change to make a bit different from the first V167, but not sure what. Any ideas?

Would it be realistic that it would get the new E-class steering wheel?

I can see Mercedes adding the E class steering wheel when they do their refresh before they redesign it again. I personally hate the new E class steering wheel (I have a 21 E350 as a loaner right now) compared to the AMG interior package's steering wheel.

As far as when we will know about the 2022 GLE, it will definitely take some time. Mercedes unveiled the S class a while ago as a 2021 model and they STILL don't have it updated on mbusa.com as an active model. Same for the EQS.

Last month when I put my order in for my 2021, my sales guy said he could order a MY 2022 with a mid-late sept arrival. But no discount, and also that the chip shortages are already impacting the 2022 roll out. So a lot of uncertainty in the timeline, especially as they are still taking in 2021 orders. And no official announcement on MY2022s.

You can take that with a grain of salt as there are a lot of "if"s"....

thanks a lot for the info. My 350de will not go I production before late august, so I was told I will get the MY2022, but my sales guy had no clue about potential changes / upgrades.

In all likelihood, the 2022 and possibly 2023 models will see no changes whatsoever aside from possible updates to packaged options and standard features. Maybe, a new steering wheel as well. For the 2023 or 2024 MY, there should be a nice facelift.
