$2500 AMG performance brake option - worth it?
Anyone have input on this option? Info below. Increases rear rotor by 1” and front brakes are 6 piston, while standard brakes are 2 piston (can anyone confirm standard brake pistons?). Sounds good to me for everyday driving, but somewhat pricey at $2500.
I see quite a few cars with the $5200 AMG Dynamics option, which has red calipers, but requires dinamica steering wheel and can’t be combined with heated steering wheel, so not ideal.
AMG High-performance Braking System w/silver calipers
AMG high-performance brakes shed both speed and heat with remarkable power, thanks to sizable internally ventilated discs at all four wheels and substantial silver-painted calipers with AMG lettering. Front discs are also perforated, and measure 15.75 inches. They're grasped by 6-piston fixed calipers. The rear discs are 14.57 inches in diameter.

I googled it and found this tidbit from CNET:
https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/review...-coupe-review/
To help stop its 5,300-plus-pound heft, this GLE53 is equipped with the $2,500 AMG High Performance Braking System. The GLE53 has 15.8-inch front rotors with two-piston calipers and 13.6-inch rear rotors with single-piston calipers as standard equipment, but this optional setup adds six-piston front calipers and increases the rear disc size by an inch. The brakes are pretty jerky at low speeds around town and the wheels accumulate a ton of dust, but the increased stopping power while driving fast is greatly appreciated.

I don’t notice any more brake dust than on my 450. I have noticed that they were grabby only twice in 4 1/2 months. It might have been from winter road grit. They work very well and are a head turner. Several people have commented on the size and the great look. With the Dinamica steering wheel you don’t need it heated, IMO. It’s never cold like leather. I applied a generous soaking of Scotch Guard to mine and so far looks like new.

I agree with @Ron.s about the Dynamica vs. heated wheel. And the brake dust may even be less than my '20 450, after the pads were bedded (several hundred miles). Boy do they haul the car down from speed!
The Dynamic Plus package has 16.8" front discs in addition to the red calipers. In addition to the other things in the Dynamic Plus that really make the 53 a special car.
