Some Night package Mods

Thanks to a fellow board member I bought some night package trim for the front fender (all but the Mercedes wing) and just had it installed and curious what everyone thinks. Debating if it looks cool as is or I really need the black center piece.

Thanks, sorry by mod I meant after purchase. All the parts are OEM MB parts another forum member removed from his GLE when he bought some of the Chrome parts.

I agree but I wasn’t only asking if people liked it but opinions on whether I should add a part to it that is missing. I am on the fence myself and liked the idea of asking a fellow enthusiast what they think or if it looked like it needed the center wing which remained chrome. Haha. I’m still not sure 😊 but I am happy overall.

Like it, but if it were me, I'd go all out to complete the look.

How difficult was it to remove and replace the trim pieces? I have the night package and was debating adding a touch of chrome with the trim. My dealer told be they would need to remove the bumper to do it, I thought that was way too much hassle so I didn't bother.

took my shop an hour and 15 min and they gave me back every part like new except for one. I didn’t ask but I seriously doubt guy took bumper off. It was a shop that pretty much deals with MB only.

The only thing I don't like about the Night Package is the two-tone wheel colors (machined + black finish), doesn't give much depth to the wheel shape.

Selenite Gray is actually the only color I don't mind having without Night Package, I think the chrome goes well with that color. With that said, since you're rounding out the front end to have the night package pieces, I think it will look better if the "wings" are also switched. Keep in mind even with the night package, the wings center split piece will still be chrome, it's just the surrounding that are chrome / matte I believe.

Are you doing the rears too?

I agree that I don’t mind the chrome at all with the selenite. It kind of compliments it but the front was a bit too chromy (if that’s a word) for me. I don’t plan on changing the rest or blocking out the trim. I do like the front with some black and I am really mixed on the blck centerpiece. I still think it fits with the back as is since it’s blck and chrome.

Pity your in Manhattan. I have an obsidian Black GLE AMG Sport Night Pack that I am changing the grille on, could have sold you my brand new grille.
BTW on my 2021 night pack the backing behind the diamonds are also gloss black
so its more than the center piece on my car.
Its a bit hard to see in this shot i'll take a close up photo of the grille if you want?

I think Mojave Silver is another color that looks better with the chrome bits.

I’ve just picked up my car today and was going to have the chrome wrapped but I have to agree the chrome looks very nice. I might leave it as it is.

Agree. I'm a night-package kind of guy, but my wife's Selenite GLE that we just purchased looks fantastic with chrome.

........
As well it should - Mercedes used that Selenite and chrome, WITH running boards, in all their new model intro films.
It's also the only color that I think looks good with running boards.
