i wonder if mine already updated as I’ve never seen anything and I’ve even checked the updates in Mbux.
It says on my recall notice it will be delivered OTA between July and September. You can't follow the instructions to see if you got the update because none of the web links are available as outlined in the recall notice???
If you get the update your MBUX version will be 080 (FUP3).
The next Mercedes me Connect mobile app update should have a Software Updates section where it can be tracked.

My mobile app in UK shows software updates, you can also check them in the car.
It would be nice if they finally added the Amazon music app they so heavily press released. If that ever comes, I'll be all set and have no real need for carplay. I'm actually thinking of switching back to Android, is the Android setup any better than carplay?

You might be best positioned to make that comparison. I like Android (Google Pixel 5) but it’s been years since I had an Apple phone. Find a friend with a newer Android phone and give it a try. My guess is there will be pluses and minuses with either.
The streaming app I use for android, slacker radio, is not supported by Android auto. For now, I don't think I'll be using Android auto. Although the music quality may not be the best, I will continue to use bluetooth if I want to stream any music.
There is a new update for the MMC app on the iPhone app store that I downloaded last night. There is now a software update tab in the app. Mine shows no updates completed but it also does not show any pending updates.

I’ve been looking at mine for 5 days and it only shows the map updates I did manually. I know there has been the safety updates since they don’t show on NHTSA site anymore. My “Me Connect” must be on the slow bus…

Just checked on mine and was surprised to see a recall software update was pushed through.
It looks like my Mercedes Me Connect app updates and I now have access to software updates, but it appears that mine has not performed the update yet. Last update my GLE received was on June 9th and it was an online map update.
For US owners you can go to https://www.mbusa.com/en/recall to see open/closed recalls. Just enter your VIN. Mine had been closed a while back and with the updated Mercedes me app I can now see that the update was indeed performed. Never got a notification in the car when it happened, so until now I was kinda wondering if it really got installed.
Looks like Mercedes is finally working in improving the OTA update notification in US. Got the first notification in car related to an update for recall (that I am not aware of, and not on the recall website)
Got mine yesterday too, took a good 25 minutes to download, another 10 to process, then it told you to shut off the engine for it to continue. Confirmed version change from apilevel/ntg6/080 to apilevel/ntg6/081.
Weird thing is that in the app I'm showing I got 2 of the same updates, one happening the day before. Unlike y'all which had a different title (update to communication module vs. MBUX software update). I didn't drive on Wednesday but my wife did, and she didn't see any notices on updates.
