I picked up my GLE a few weeks ago an on inspection of the car, I noticed the pictured blemish in the paint. The dealer gave me a 'We Owe' form to get it fixed and and yesterday told me that the body shop said not to worry about it has it is under the clear coat. I am concerned with this response as the 'blemish' is raised and feels like a bump. I am of course taking my car to another body shop to have it looked at and get a second opinion but wanted to see if anyone on the forum had a similar issue or experience.
I would not accept their response. Considering it's under the clear coat, definitely something I would push them to fix as it is not something that could have happened after delivery.

Correct, you should not have to worry about it, as it is a factory paint defect that you noted on the delivery form. The we owe form given to you at purchase is an agreed to contractual/legal obligated to fix it at the time of sale, so they definitely need to worry about it.
Looks like smaller blemishes as well, or is that water droplets?
thats what I see as well. If those are not water droplets, that whole door has been badly repainted and the sanding job was terrible. I hope the whole car does not look like that. If this is a new car with that door repaired, I would be having a bigger convo, and I would be examining carfax, etc.
I just meet with two different body shops and both stated they would not touch the pictured blemish as it is below the clear coat. FYI - the other pictured spots are droplets of rain.
My 'We Owe' form is my key if something should arise but it appears I should be good to go.

Your call, the door will have to be repainted to correct if they can't wet sand due to the clear coat. The repaint cost will be paid by Mercedes, IF you do it now. At some point moving forward, MB won't pay to repaint should you change your mind. Guess it depends on how bad it bugs you, and how good a repaint job your dealer's body shop does. Much easier to match the paint on a new vehicle.
Sorry about your finish issue. My ‘21 black GLE 350 has orange peel all over. I don’t know if that’s particular to black as we’ve typically owned white cars in the past. Our Lexus white pearl paint on the other hand is absolutely perfect.
