Frustrated with GLE, thinking about selling. Thoughts?

probably a customer buy back vehicle. running the vin will show this and its known issues. 167 point inspection my ***. you bought what you thought was a cheap benz. and now you know why.

Not a customer buy back, a dealership service loaner. VIN is clean and it was not exactly cheap. - All notwithstanding the endless problems I am having.

Don't let the negativity get to you. They will either fix the issues or replace the vehicle. It's frustrating to say the least. Try to be patient which will be hard. It will get resolved to your satisfaction at some point.

Ask the dealer if you can test drive another GLE to see if the braking noise is there.

If you only dawdle around, the brakes can develop a glaze that is pretty annoying.
Try some aggressive stops before you judge the brakes.

I have a 2018 GLE 350 with a V6 reliable engine ( no issues ) this will be my last GLE because of my reliability concern with the new GLEs. My concern with the 2019 and up model is the engine reliability. I also have a 2021 gla 250 which has the same 2.0 turbo engine which GLE 350 has. Only difference between the two engines is a little bit wider intake and bigger turbo give 30 hp difference. I believe that a small engine is too small for GLE. For GLA it is good but for GLE it might produce more problems in the long run ( 3 to 4 years) So make sure you guys have an extended warranty on those engines as I feel mule is given an adrenalin shot to run like a horse. GLE 350 is a heavy car and it can produce more stress on that small engine which was designed initially for smaller compact MBs

And who's to say, maybe it's an engine designed for the GLE and also used in a GLC.
The hp/ lb-ft ratings for that size engine are pretty conservative, compared to other offerings on the market.

I have many of those same problems. Mine was not a CPO and was not one of the ones that sat for months outside waiting for parts. I enjoy the comments, while surely good intentioned, suggesting to have the dealership fix the gap dimensions and whistling side mirror etc.. is somewhat misguided. I have gone to my dealership several times to have noise issues fixed, (whistling, general wind noise, creaky driver door seals over ever bump) and they give the car back to me and say all normal. If this is normal for Mercedes they are in big trouble.
I'll likely keep the car for a little while longer and dump it. Never getting a Mercedes again.

Yea, I started the whistling thread on this forum a while back, I have taken it to my dealership and they tried the service bulletin fix which didn't work. I bought a crappy looking after market mirror covers which cut it down significantly so I'm just living with it now. The driver's door creaking after every bump is my new issue which they didn't even bother trying to fix. Frankly, I don't have time or the energy to bring this car back and forth to Mercedes. I have been to the dealership probably 5-6 times since I bought it to fix these issues. I'm not picky either, I have never had to do this with any other car before (Jeep, Audi etc..). I basically have given up and will live with these issues until a can get rid of it. I don't care what anyone says, this in not a well made car.

The door creaking like a wooden ship is an easy fix. It’s caused by the rubber door seals. Push on the top of the door window frames (with the door closed ) and you can easily recreate the creak. Just go to the auto parts store and buy a $5 tube of silicone grease lubricant and apply it to the door seals… problem eliminated.

Friends,
This is a related question to my V167 troubles (I'll post the full story later):
I am looking at the extended warranty (3yrs 75000m) on another GLE. Isn't there a member here in the forum who worked for MB and had the best quotes for these warranty extensions?
As far as I recall, you could buy them from any dealership and still be covered by MB anywhere in the US. Is somebody knows who that was, could you post his name please, so I can ask him for a quote?
Thank you

Thank you! I found a gentleman by the name of Jeff Jackson in Louisville by using the search function. Also, I have contacted the recommended dealership in Newport, CA.
With regard to the other name, does "Erin Mahre" or "Cassandra Castro" ring a bell?
