Switch from AT&T to T-Mobile?
MBZMaster on Facebook has a new post at https://www.facebook.com/MBZMaster/ that is a Youtube video;
where he says that Mercedes is switching from AT&T to T-mobile for the WiFi hotspot. It's a little confusing as some parts of the video are confusing (T-Mobile being faster than AT&T which is supposedly extremely slow, but I guess that depends on your location) and for the most part it seems logical. The bottom line is if you don't have the AT&T hotspot activated yet, your MB automatically will switch to T-Mobile upon activating, but if you already have AT&T, you have do to some manual steps to switch to T-Mobile.
I don't see anything anywhere else about this change. If accurate, I hope I can stay with AT&T as T-Mobile has horrible coverage where I am. AT&T isn't that much better, but it is better up here in Maine,

I saw this today as well, and registered at: https://www.daimlerna.hotspotdrive.com/ but am unable to add by 2021 GLE 63s through that page... the "Add A Vehicle" button doesn't work. There is also a message that says "please link a vehicle to your account by connecting to the vehicle's Wi-Fi and providing a username and password for authorization", so I'll try that when I'm in the car next. I think there are some early access issues... When I logged into my Mercedes Me account, at: https://www.me.mercedes-benz.com/pas...anagement.html and went to the WiFi area, there's a button to "Top Up Data", but clicking that took me to AT&T, and following that trail took me to a page saying my 2021 GLE 63s "doesn't do AT&T". So at this point, T-Mobile wants me to diddle with MBUX, and the MMC app doesn't link to T-Mobile. YMMV.. let us know!

I am actually looking forward for the switch. AT&T signal at my area is very bad. I am getting 1 or 2 bars at my house, vs T-Mobile 4-5 bars. Verizon is also bad (my alarm panel is using Verizon and they (the technician) said its only getting 1 - 2 bars too)

My previous GLE (2020) used AT&T, but I picked up my new GLE about a month ago and can confirm it uses T-Mobile although I haven't connected the service. What is everyone using it for?

Today, during an 11 hour road trip, I used more than 900MB of data, so the AT&T unlimited plan comes in handy, especially as AT&T data is cheaper than my Verizon Wireless data plan.

I spoke with the Mercedes Me Connect folks today and they stated that an update would be pushed out towards the end of September to switch vehicles from ATT to T-Mobile. She also mentioned that I can call T-Mobile directly to have them add the vehicles SIM in their system. I have sent my VIN and info to T-Mobile Hotspot drive and will give an update once I have heard back from them, but the gentleman I spoke with from Hotspot Drive made it sound like it's doable.

Unfortunately T-Mobile has no coverage at home, so it was worthless. Went back to the store and they were "unable" to unleash me. Went to several stores, talked with tech support, went to more stores, talked to tech support a few more times, but they held on to me until the trial period was over.
I finally got my Verizon back, but it took some clever strategy by Verizon to do it.
Really sorry customer experience, bordering on fraud.
Fun CEO, though.

It was more a comment on T-Mobile's tactics, and not really part of the Mercedes conversation.
But to the M-B part - I don't think T-Mobile has enough coverage, even after the Sprint merger in 2020.

They will let you keep your plan if you paid for a year in advance and then ask you to switch when it's time to renew. I'm not sure about the month to month plans though.

Note that this differs significantly from the carrier's marketing maps. You can also see the HUGE difference in coverage between voice and data!!!!!

You can see the major carriers coverage as calculated by the FCC here: https://www.fcc.gov/BroadbandData/MobileMaps/mobile-map

Switch from AT &T to T-mobile
I have spent more than 20 hours with MB to determine what the next steps are in getting WiFi now that AT & T will no longer renew contracts for data plans and thus, no WiFi. The repeated response from MB is that the issue has been routed to a higher level for review. MB has not formally acknowledged the fact of non-renewal contracts with AT & T for models 2018 and newer despite the fact that AT & T have noticed their customers who used this data plan initially.

For anyone interested, here are the details relating to T-mobile hotspot subscription plans:
https://www.daimlerna.hotspotdrive.com/#/infos/product
When I opened the MBUX browser, it led me to the subscription page.
Here in Canada, the plans start at $15/month for 2GB data volume.
