What do you love about your GLE? (GLE appreciation thread)

Most of the threads here are either questions or complaints, which is understandable. But just like with Yelp / Google reviews, people are way more vocal when something is not working. For these reasons, I'm starting the GLE appreciation thread. Please share any of the following:

1. What do you love about your GLE? Maybe it's something you didn't expect or didn't think you would appreciate before purchasing, but you do now.
2. What about GLE has exceeded your expectations?
3. What option packages or functionality is so awesome that you can't imagine having a car without it again?
4. Anything else you want to share!

Definitely mine and my wife’s favorite aspect about this car is the design and color. We have Emerald Green with the AMG-Line and love it. We’ve had other green cars (BMW Fern Green, which is a similar shade) and find it to be elegant and rare in a world of black, grays, and white. We’ve even received a lot of compliments on the street, which surprised me considering its just an SUV and not a sports car.

Space. This was our main reason from upgrading from GLC to GLE but its so much more usable and has been very helpful for trips with the dog in the back, home depot runs, traveling with 2-3 passengers, etc.

Ours isn’t spec’d out much as we didn’t need many things beyond a particular color combo and the 6-cylinder engine, and the standard equipment is pretty generous, so nothing exactly “per say” that we can’t live without. I would say the 48-volt system has spoiled us on cars. Both my CLS and the GLE have it and have made stop and go traffic seamless and we never turn off the start stop system because of it.

Overall very happy with the car and the wife loves it, and as they say, happy wife, happy life!

My 53 AMG has every option except the fancy $5,000+ suspension and the panoramic sunroof as nobody sits in the back seat and it is cooler in the desert. I love the red and black leather, HUD, adaptive Cruise control and all the other options. I would never spend 90K and not get all the options that I love. Now I just pray that the 48V devil does not rear it's ugly head!!

The back seat room.
That’s the first thing wife noticed when picked up car.
She recommended we should try the back seats😉one night at a drive in theater😳I laughed my a$$ off.

Having owned the last 3 generations since the original 1998, I knew pretty much what to expect. But I'd say this improves in pretty much all areas, except perhaps in too much tech in some cases.
2. What about GLE has exceeded your expectations?
Smoothness, performance, space.
3. What option packages or functionality is so awesome that you can't imagine having a car without it again?
E-ABC - awesome.
4. Anything else you want to share!
We've always had them the full model cycle. Will be interesting to see what 2027 brings, probably electric only.

This was long overdue. I had thought about a similar post myself.
The standard suspension ride is awesome. Very comfortable and quiet ride. Mine doesn't whistle at high speeds. Great acceleration and fuel economy considering the size of the vehicle. Mine was dealer stock and came with a lot of packages I would have not ordered and now that I have them couldn't live without them.
This forum has a lot of information that makes the ownership of a Mercedes-Benz a lot more satisfying. You just have to learn to tune out the always negative trolls.

GLE 450
Love the car

Of course there is no perfect SUV, but our GLE 450 is quite good. Our previous ML 350 (2012) was nice - the 2020 GLE is a vast improvement in terms of power (of course a 450 vs. 350), but more importantly it is smooth as silk. The cabin is the quietest one I have ever been in. The acceleration is good and the gas mileage is excellent considering the vehicle's weight. Drive back and forth from NY to Florida and this car is perfect for that. We have the AMG exterior package and also find the styling appealing. One of my only pet peeves is the counter intuitive HVAC system, oh sorry no *****ing.....

I love the multicontour front seats and had no idea how much I'd love them until after I bought the vehicle. The structure of the bottom of the seat is ideal for me, though I know that's subjective, and the ability to dial in the lumbar support to personal preference with the air support inside has been a game-changer. In past cars, I've removed the lumbar support to the most minimal setting possible because it always seemed to hit the wrong area and felt like a knife in my (chronically sore) back. These seats provide a custom fit and have made my driving experience so much more pleasant. I also enjoy many of the other things already mentioned above, particularly the HUD (which I've had in past car brands, but this one is nicely done) and the rear seat space. The lighting system is fantastic. The available power of the GLE 580 is comforting, though I certainly could have done well with the 450 had one been available on the lot. I'm so happy with the seat comfort that I'm somewhat willing to overlook the marginal stereo system in exchange for the overall comfort, though next time I would spring for the high-end stereo system because I'd like to be comfortable in the seat and have my ears really happy, too. I know that part was a backhanded compliment, but I think I've arrived at that certain age where comfort is king, but I still like the other bells and whistles.

Having had GLE's / ML's for many many years the GLE450 is a game changer. Love the tech, ride is superb as is the performance (and that's coming from a GLE43 Coupe). 48V stop start is superb. Only not have space for a spare wheel is my only gripe.

Although only had it a week now it still makes me smile.

The ride, the quiet, the space (especially second row), the technology, the interior design/attention to detail.

Went from a GLC to a GLE. I just enjoy driving this car. The interior is probably my favorite aspect of the GLE. There must be at least 3 GLCs on my block, it is a great SUV, it has become the new Chevy Impala around here. When my good friend, a devout BMW guy , came for a ride in my GLE, he and his wife were just blown away by the instrumentation, electronics, and customizable graphics, they couldn’t shut up about it. He knew that I had owned 2 BMWs in the past and was pushing me toward the X5 which was in fact my second choice. He begrudgingly just recently said to me that he can see why I opted for the GLE over his beloved ( however to me, somewhat dated) Bimmer. The GLE is a lot of car to love……

Memories, sweetened through the ages just like wine. I remember the days a new Impala was $3,200.

Smile what I like about my 2020 GLE 450

1. the engine, excellent fuel economy, with enjoyable power.
2. the technology, awesome features
3. airomatic suspension package, lovely smooth ride.
4. massaging seats, have helped my back issues on longer drives.
5. acoustic comfort package, the extra cabin insulation for quietness and that feeling of quality when driving a Mercedes
6 soft close doors, really neat feature I enjoy more than anticipated.
7. ventilated seats which enhance total comfort on hot days.

Excellent! Bravo.

All kidding aside, this V8 is a beast on the highway for traveling and around town. Power without the AMG harsh ride and sound.
Also the distronic (Adaptive cruise) is one of the best on the market and a huge reason I held out for my 580.

I love the quiet and roomy interior. This is probably the quietest vehicle I've ever driven in.

2. What about GLE has exceeded your expectations?
My GLE 450 exceeded my expectations for quietness and smooth yet quick acceleration.

3. What option packages or functionality is so awesome that you can't imagine having a car without it again?
Driver assistance package. This is my wife's car so I rarely drive it. But the other day, I drove it on a long stretch of highway and engaged the distronics. Wow, once the speed was set, the car practically drove itself. It did a wonderful job of staying in the lane. I can see this being a very useful feature in a long road trips.

4. Anything else you want to share!
Overall, I am happy with my GLE. I know the 48V issue can rear its ugly head at the most inopportune time but I just hope that it doesn't happen when I'm 1500 miles away from home.

Great looks; fantastic handling; MBUX; linear throttle; small on the outside-big inside; adequate small item storage; quiet; good fuel economy; power is great but more wouldn’t hurt. I hope they offer the future E Performance AMG with the 6 in the GLE.

Stunning from inside and outside (Mojave Silver, Tartufo (AMG dual), metal weave, 22" wheels, NO running boards!!)
A beast. Solid, confident.
HUD, parking assist (Yes, I use it)
MBUX (I like it), lots of visual options)
Seat comfort. Ventilated seats (although other manufacturers use air conditioned air (does MB?)
DA package.
Ability to have many drive mode options. On other vehicles (normal/sport/eco)

Least favorite
Paying 1200 for more "sound", no Tidal (Android Auto is available), disabled lighting (can be enabled by Raj?), Would have liked a little more mid-range power (not sure about "tunings")
More wind noise than I would have expected. Wish I had opportunity to know if acoustic option is truly better.
Sound system is just OK with good source material.
Expensive options...

My GLE 350 2021: Went for my favourite colour Selenite Grey, Espresso Brown/Black interior, 3rd-row option, premium & premium plus package, dashcam and night package

1. What do you love about your GLE?
- Very smooth drive and flawless MBUX
- All options I had chosen that include MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation is pretty amazing, don't even feel like using Apple Carplay
- Hey Mercedes is helpful

2. What about GLE has exceeded your expectations?
- So far very impressed with all the features/functions, but what has exceeded expectations so far is fuel efficiency
- Have had GLE 350 for only a few days and I am seeing very good fuel economy

3. What option packages or functionality is so awesome that you can't imagine having a car without it again?
- I didn't opt for the Intelligent Drive, which I feel now I should have
4. Anything else you want to share!
-
So far, the MercedesMe App works flawlessly
- I do have some issues with user profile settings, like seat adjustments based on selected user profiles, so exploring that further if seats could be adjusted automatically based on selected user profile
