Ventilated seats

Had ventilated seats in an Audi SQ5, worked great. Actually 'cooled' the seat using forced air. The MB 'ventilation' simply sucks air from the cabin of the vehicle into the seat. so the air in the vehicle needs to be cool. If you are just getting into a hot car (we live in TX) it is useless until the car cools off. Even then, it is less effective than the Audi was. .

2024 GMC Canyon Denali..... 2018 Audi SQ5
I think it might make a difference with seats that have all the functions like heated, massaging, etc. All that stuff might restrict flow somewhat.
My Mercedes was better than my wife’s old RX but the Cayenne without the massage function is the best yet. On high you can feel a lot of air on your back…that I turn down after 5 minutes or so. Some like the RX, we had, were so bad that I took it in thinking they it wasn’t working. They pulled the back off the seat to see a tiny fan running medium speed, it wouldn’t cool you if it was blowing directly on your face.

Maybe they should provide a (yet another) option - an Air Collar like they offer on open cars.

I wonder if @rjautomotive can boost the fan speed?

They already do their job without making the raucous noise like the VAG offerings.
Kind of a luxury thing....

Just to recap the original issue….the fan is cutting completely off after 3 minutes. The issue isn’t speed or distribution. Dealer says this is the way it was designed to perform. Ugh

I feel like mine lowers the fan speed when the car slows down, and picks up to original setting when car increases speed again. I assumed they did that to reduce noise when you're stopped. I also feel like the fan slowly drops in speed over time even though I have it on the highest setting and turns off after around 30min. It's definitely programmed with speed and time otherwise @BenzNinja wouldn't list it as a program option on his menu.
