Strange foil inside windshield on brand new GLE
There seems to be a square shaped foil inside the windshield on the passenger side. Any idea what this could be? Could it be a factory mistake? Seems like a very odd place to put any sensors

That picture from the OP doesn't look at all like my 2021 acoustic glass.
The photo shows the "foil" to be much larger, it doesn't show the six individual openings that I (barely) see in my windshield and Owner's Manual, and it looks like a blockage instead of an opening.
So the question to the OP would be - Does your car have the acoustic package?
If it does, then they've made some major changes in a couple years. Making the opening visible would be a major step forward. 😀
