I had read about the difficulties of radar detectors and the windshield glass in that package, so I left it off my build. I'd rather mount my v1g2 where I desire and not in a specific zone outlined in the glass for my use. Car seems plenty quiet to me with the regular glass, but I'm coming from a pickup most recently so don't laugh too much, ha!

I’m concerned about this - as I have this package specified AND I’ll not be mounting a front license plate. - so I can’t request the toll tag that mounts to the top of the front plate bracket. (Yes, I know I’m supposed to have a front plate, and yes - I know how much the ticket is)

We have the Acoustic package. No problem with finding a convenient location for my radar detector (low, just above dash, to the left of center where I can access buttons). I DID try it a few inches higher and it becomes unreliable - that was before I got the lighting right, so I could see the outlines from outside the car.
I don't know about the rear glass vs. radar/lidar, but I get good transition from front to rear, as I pass the radar.
Detector has no problem with GPS.

Don't use any traffic passes, so can't report.

We really appreciate the quiet on long trips, and the exhaust note still seems aggressive. Good combo, IMO.
It's a necessity to enjoy the 3D Burmester.

I had front 30% tint on our 450, but removed it. Hard to navigate on country roads, where we live. Especially now that the cornering lighting is reduced on the new models.

Did you use "C" or "A" weighting to take measurements, and was it a real SP meter, or just a phone app?
+3dB is twice as loud BTW.

I haven't done that yet, but maybe with my next loaner. Not a fair test without the same tires, though.

Mike, Did they figure out your ARC failure?

Don't worry. We have the sticker with RFID and it works fine. Just look at the manual to see where the open spot is to the passenger side of the mirror and put it there. Best way to find it is to use your phone flashlight from the outside while the vehicle is in a garage.

EZpass sticker placed in area where designated and no problems. However didn't tint the front windows because the package claims heat rejection. My ***. Will be ceramic tinting the windows as I feel way to much heat though them (and by "way" I mean any).

I tinted mine and love it! All the windows including the sunroof were tinted and it makes a big difference.

It seems so. I need to update the ARC thread I started in the AMG 53 thread.
Short story - it wasn't a "failure" since I ran off the track and did the damage myself. Insurance called it an At Fault Accident - sideways on dirt at 70mph. Felt like Joie Chitwood.

We found that I had damaged some alignment bolts, preventing alignment.
A shock absorber was replaced, a steering sensor (thought it might be the rack) renewed, and an ABS sensor was giving irregular readings. Replaced.
Lots of "resets," "adaptations" and "syncing."

All seems good now. Relieved and happy to get my car back.
Also extremely impressed with the suspension at the track. Wow is what I say.

I tint all of my windshields in 70 ceramic. It is quite subtle, but makes a huge difference heat/glare wise. I use static cling sheets to attach my registration sticker and toll tags. I'll do the same when this GLE53 arrives this spring.

Good feedback.
I wouldn't have thought that 70% transmissivity would make much of a heat difference. Thanks.

Ceramic tint absolutely does. First thing I'm doing to the car next month when I get it. It's a must have in Florida - for me anyway. Front windshield ceramic will be almost clear. Too hard to see at night otherwise.

Thanks... yes I'd hoped I'd not have to with this package. However, looks like front two will get 20% or so and the rest 70. Did the 70 on all the factory tinted windows including pano sun roof in my Raptor. Was a great call. Ceramic tint in 70 rejects more heat than lesser materials by a significant amount.

Not sure where you are, but here in TX, you’re required to have your plates noted on your account for ea. vehicle, so the tags are really not needed as they will deduct the tolls since all stations have license plate readers.
