Offset question?

So I have been looking a some wheels, don't really like the ones we ordered. I found some but there is one thing... the offset.

The shop says that they will fit and are spec'ed for the 53 but I'm a doubting Thomas because when I look up the specs for 22's on the 53 the factory wheels are

56 FRONT
50 REAR

the ones I like are:

35 FRONT
30 REAR

These seem to push the wheel outward if I'm not mistaken. What do you guys think?

everything else about the wheels are the 10 in the front and 11 in rear.

That’s about an inch…they are already out a bunch. When I was shopping I couldn’t find a source that recommended anything that drastic. It might hit on bumps or turning I would think. I run et45’s on 8 1/2”-20’s on my winter setup. Here’s a calculator that might help-http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

Normally an extra 20mm of "poke" wouldn't be an issue, but the stock setup is already pretty aggressive. I don't think I would do it myself. That said, I'd love to see it, so if you do it, please post pics.

A year ago I went through the same process of looking for 22” aftermarket that would fit. As I recall, Discount Tire listed only one set. Tire Rack none; CARiD showed a couple but they were discontinued or unavailable. Then I checked TSW & Mandrus. IMO you are pretty much left with special order Vossens.

Offset

I had the same issue. There just is not a lot of options in 22” especially since Mercedes has those rando offsets.

I ended up with a set of 22s with 38mm offsets all the way around. Can barely tell the difference from factory as far as look or how it drives.

Main difference is because I went from 275/50R20 tires to 285/40r22, so slightly less sidewall. That slightly changed the way it feels but nothing crazy.

Actually the sidewall difference is exactly 1". Obviously the most noticeable difference (other than visual) is that with much (1" is much) lower sidewall the handling should improve very noticeably. There is also some ride penalty for sure, but 285/40 is not a low profile tire at all, so ride should still be quit comfortable.

It’s important to note if you are comparing the same width wheels. .Use the tool Ron.s posted if you have not already.
