Battery charge
I have a 2020 GLE350 with 15K miles. It was valet parked at a hotel last night and I received a message at 1:15AM from Mercedes me connect the battery needed a charge and drive at least 30 miles. I called the valet parking and they said the car was turned off. Any ideas on the cause ?

Low battery. After a lot of short trips, the state of charge decreases if you don't drive it "at least 30 miles" from time to time. You'll prolong the battery life if you occasionally integrate longer drives into your routes.
The car is always in some state of alert, waiting for the App to find it, communicate with it, or looking for over the air updates. It's not like the old days.
We saw that warning fairly regularly on our GLC300, which during COVID hadn't been exercised much. It took a couple of weeks, taking the Long Way Home, to get rid of the warning for good.

charging vs recond
Mine is very very often showing PARTIALLY CHARGED even a couple of days after recharging with the CTEK MXS5.0. I was thinking of using the RECOND function of this charger. Anyone has feedback on this? I believe the original car battery at 43000km might be approaching replacement. So may be reconditioning battery via the CTEK charger gives a new lease before replacement.
