Carrier Bars and Panoramic Sun Roof Fit
It seems that the sunroof cannot open with the bars on the vehicle.
We had the dealer move the bars and the roof opened but only a few inches before it hits the back bar.
Where the bar grips the roof rail invades the space of the panoramic sunroof travel.
Are other having this issue?
Is there a solve to this problem.
I'm getting ready to get either Thule or Yakima bars, even measured the width and all and had this thought or the sunroof hitting the foot base of the rack.

"When the basic carrier bars for rails are mounted, the (panorama) sliding sunroof cannot be opened entirely. To ventilate the vehicle interior, the (panorama) sliding sunroof can still be raised at the rear. If the (panorama) sliding sunroof comes into contact with a basic carrier bar for rails which has been approved by Mercedes-Benz, it will lower slightly but remain raised at the rear."
Thanks.

What cross bars is everyone using? I think mine are Thule.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
1. They are different lengths, so the longer one should be mounted on the wider part of the roof (front).
2.The shorter one fits on the narrower part of the roof (rear).
3. Here is something important, there is a left and right end for each bar. It will attach properly to the roof rail once it is mated to the correct end of the crossbar.
Once you are able to position the bars on their correct roof position and if the latch does not line up as it should, flip it around and it will most likely work as expected.
It took me a while to figure it out, but they do fit. I do not understand why the installation instructions do not describe the line up steps for the bars more completely.
I hope this works for you.
I am going to try the factory bars assuming Mercedes has figured this out but I would be annoyed if the sunroof interferes since I like the bars to be on at all times.
