Exterior Lights

Just picked up 2022 450. DRL working, but logo projector and side view mirror lights not working when doors open. Locator light setting is enabled. Anyone have this issue?

You say the locator lights are enabled. Are you referring to in the app? Has the app synced with your vehicle yet? My '21 450 locator lights work just fine.

Did not see anything about logo lights in the app which has synced with the suv.. I found a light grouping in the infotainment screen and there was an option to enable locator lights. The visual on the screen shows mirror and pavement lights. Have I missed something? My wife has 2020 E350 and they work perfectly.

Sounds like you're in the right area. I think mine had an issue shortly after I picked it up but have worked ever since. I'm not sure if they were off in the app when it synced with the vehicle but I just checked and both the app and vehicle settings are enabled.

Where is the setting in the app? You’re referencing Mercedes ME Connect, right?

Not sure if you tried this yet, but did you turn them all off and turn it back on again? It solved the issue of the mirror not folding for example by turning off fold when locked and then turning it back on. Electronics glitches now and then.

I may be wrong, but I’m thinking they did not install the logo projector. If I open the driver door, there is a red reflector and a white light that seems to shine on the ground, but no logo. I think there’s also supposed to be a light shining from the side mirrors. Nada. I can’t imagine they deleted the logo projectors as they don’t have anything to do with the chip shortage. It also shows up on the window sticker under standard options. They did delete the AR.

Hmmm, I am unaware of them removing the light from the side mirrors for MY22 however they did remove all the exterior door handle lights since MY21. If the logo projectors shows up on your VIN data card then they should install it for you.

I am almost certain that they just forgot to add them or for all I know, they didn't have them. I know that the dealers normally have these in stock, but we will see. I'll check with the dealer Monday. Hope I don't get a runaround.

Yup that must be the case : ) , they shouldn't have an excuse to not install them for you if it is part of your build and they didn't refund it (delete it from the build).

I am just hoping nothing is on backorder and that they get it installed the same day you bring the vehicle in.

On my wife's 2020 E350, the projector logo light is under the door panel and on my 22 450, it was only a light. Does your light come from underneath the door?

So here is what appears to be the case. As I wrote, the logo light emanates from the bottom of the front doors on my wife's e350. Went to the dealer this morning and he said there was no logo projector at the bottom of the doors. He was a bit surprised. He then put a cover over the sensors in the front windshield and lo and behold, there was a logo emanating from the side view mirror. Same for the passenger side. It was too light in the shop staging area to see the logo on the ground, but it was clearly evident on his hand. I then looked at the build sheet for the car and it clearly says LED Side Mirror Logo Projectors. I never for one moment realized it was different on this vehicle and frankly, I'm quite embarrassed about the trip to the dealer and this thread. Mea Culpa. What a waste of my time and that of the gracious people who attempted to help. Thanks for your interest in my 'non problem".

Glad it is all sorted out now. It is not your fault honestly because it is an option available for both the mirror and under the door. It is natural for you to think when "projector light" is mentioned, it is just the under the door ones, as you experienced it on the E350. You would never had guessed there were two types and it is totally normal you think that way. In fact, on MBUSA's site, it only shows one option, which is the one under the front doors. There is no option for MB star projector under side mirrors.

Just speaking the truth : ) but I still have no clue why the MBUSA build site doesn't have the side mirror projector light as an option but it is definitely available when you order the vehicle from the dealership, perhaps. That is probably why it got confusing. Not your fault at all : )

No worries. A valid concern. I’d asked about this as well had I been in your shoes. Drives my wife crazy LOL.

Cheers,

Got 2022 and it does show the option turn off mirror sideview lights on off but there are none does that mean the connection is there because I own some that should work and fit as they where custom puddle light I'd like install but need find vendor bottom cap with light hole. I'm 80% confident the connection is inside there otherwise why would I have option turn out off and on it does nothing on my car I've checked. Anyone else know anything? I'll update oh here is my ride
