Navigation Map - Explain This!

There is a new expansion planned for the housing development that I live in. They are moving ground now in preparation for the new streets. Last week these new streets showed up in both the meApp and on my NAV screen. It even tries to send me on them when routing! I have not received any OTA updates and the portal says all of my maps are up to date and have been for months. If that is the case, where did these new roads come from? They do not show in any online map services yet either!!!

If that worked I probably wouldn't even care about this stuff. It would all be up to my driver!!!

If there was indeed no map update, then the only thing I can think of is that those roads were already there, but flagged with a future date and remained hidden until that date. Not sure if HERE has this capability, but would make sense as a feature for planned new roads.

Your explanation sounds reasonable. The roads are not there yet. Just a lot of big equipment doing grading and working on utility installations. If I followed the route guidance through there, I would never make it!!!

Another likely scenario is that they track new subdivision plats through city & county to keep maps updated. Someone probably added the streets a little prematurely.

That hardly sounds like a problem. Last week I asked for route guidance to home from a distant location I am not familiar with. It kept making me get off and on at every interstate ramp. Android - Auto/Google maps albeit wired connection saved the day.
