Anyone know what this "P" stands for? Can't find any explanation in the owner's manual. Vehicle is a 21 GLE 450 with most all upgrade packages.

I've noticed it comes on when I am braking to a stop and MPH goes under ~20. Goes off when acceleration speed reaches ~20 MPH.

Thanks........David

I think it means you're going slow enough and your sensors are armed to look for parking spaces.
Then if you activate the self parking it'll show the search on your MBUX screen.

And typically it will show up with either a left or right arrow to help you identify an available spot. Once you hit the parking button, then it will confirm once you decide by turning on your turn signal respective to the direction you're parking.

Thanks all. I've not yet tried the self-parking function so will give it a try.

The self park works pretty well...with a few caveats. It wants to see one open spot with a car on either side (or a car on either end if parallel parking). Two open spots confuse it. Also, it's slow. If there is traffic waiting behind you, hopefully they're patient. I do better using a combination of the mirrors and camera view on the dash.

I thought we lost the arrows with the new MBUX. I don’t think I’ve seen them on my current GLE.
And yes it’s sloooooooooow. But precise.

Wait, you didn't search for "P" in tne manual and check all 21000 instances of P?

LOL. Just kidding.

I have the latest MBUX software on my 2020 (corrected the glitches I was experiencing on MBUX and with my active drivers assist), and yesterday I saw an arrow to the left of that P while I was driving, so still works on mine.

TexAg91 do you know the version no. for the latest MBUX software? Mine was "updated" 2 weeks ago but shows the version I had before; apilevel/ntg6/081 so I am looking to see if it was a new version installed or just a reset. Thanks

Never used the self-park in either my GLC or the GLE. I once asked my veteran sales rep to demo for me. He said that while he was trained on it, he just doesn't feel comfortable with it. The icon bothers my wife who first reacted, "Does P mean the car has a problem?"

Will have to check in the vehicle. What is the folder structure to find out in MBUX, anyone know? Checked the app and it doesn’t have any useful info.

Mine has been updated as well and still shows ntg6/081. My P is lit all the time and when near a parking spot I get an arrow. Mine is actually a triangle shape with the flat side towards the P and the angle pointing toward the parking spot. I’ve never used Park Assist so that’s the extent of my knowledge.

It is under the System menu tab, it will show you the Software version.

Here’s my MBUX s/w version. All my software gremlins are gone with this version.
