Smile COST OF FIRST SERVICE

Just wondering what a fair cost would be for my first service at 10,000 miles. Should I do an “A” service or is that simply an expensive oil change? I do sometimes get coupons from my dealership for $150 off a service of $300 or more. What filters need to be replaced? What other services are of real significance to do at 10k miles. Thanks

Usually an 'expensive' oil change. ANywhere from 150-200 bux. Lots of 'checks' but the only fluid is oil, sometimes they'll try and take you for some windshield wiper fluid or a new set of wipers. My advice is have your guard up but also know it's a 'dealer'. GL to ya!

The A Service includes expensive windshield wipers so I opted out since mine are still good…you need to tell them or they will automatically change them. Tire rotation is a consideration at that time. My AMG with a few more items to check was $195 a month ago. The oil & filter is over half that amount so while it’s not a great deal, I thought it was fair. I got a few Software updates done at the same time.

I'm pretty sure you HAVE to do Service A and B to maintain warranty.

You really don't have a choice.

True, but you do have a choice of who does the work.
If you or another shop does performs the maintenance, you can protect your warranty by having receipts and a Work Order verifying that all required items were performed, and that the fluids used meet M-B standards. That's the Law, according to the Moss-Magnuson Warranty Act 0f 1975.

I don't think there are many (any?) independent shops that have the diagnostic equipment to fully evaluate these new vehicles, and they are less likely to have training and knowledge to do as complete a job. And probably no ability to perform some updates.

I'd go to the Dealer, but you might specify "No Additives" unless there are some that you want. Ask them first.

Here is a blurb from my local MB dealer. Express "A" service which one would assume qualifies for warranty purposes. No cost shown as it varies from vehicle to vehicle. My one express service there on my wife's '14 ML350 was about $275.00.

Was thinking the same... We have Mercedez Benz of Austin or Georgetown Tx to choose from.
