Side Camera - Where Is It?

I just noticed this spot showing up on my display. Stays in same place when car moves.

I'm guessing it is some mud/debris on my RR camera - but have no idea where that camera is to clean. Or is it a software gremlin? Or something else?

Thanks...........David

Under the side mirror housing, looks like dirt but a rock chip can also cause it

Look under the side mirror…I think. Actually I’ve never had any picture loss even in snow…maybe lucky…I have had to clean my rear camera once.

Likely like you said it is a dirty camera lens, if you can't find it try rinsing that mirror. If it still there after you rinse it use something soft that doesn't scratch to wipe the camera protective lens underneath the mirror. Rinse is important because you want to get rid of sand/rocks from the lens before wiping it, that way you don't scratch it.

BINGO! Found the camera and cleaned it. Spot is now gone!

That camera is so tiny it was probably no more than a speck of dust.

As a side-note, one also needs to clean the front sensors when driving in sloppy weather. I was in cruise control the other day when it suddenly cancelled and I got a warning message saying something about the sensors being dirty.

Thanks...........David
