It never seems to end…I haven’t seen a recall notice yet.

What's amazing to me is that there are not more than there are, as complex as vehicles are today.

What is the component to be replaced in question and what is the defect, any more details because it states it affects 2017-2020 of C, E, S. of all body styles + GLC, GLE, GLS, etc.
Concerning for all of us for sure.
Edit: Nevermind, found the cause after perusing the article. Coolant pump may leak coolant.

From the article:

'“In the meantime the affected vehicle should be driven in a particularly prudent manner and usage reduced to the bare minimum,” the letter said.'

That's, ummm ... troubling ...

Yikes:
"Affected vehicles include Mercedes’ GLE/GLS, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, S-Class, E-Class Coupe/Convertible, GLC, CLS and G-Class automobiles produced between January 2017 and October 2021. Mercedes said fixes were expected to begin as early as mid-January".

Some good news for USA customers, "No vehicles in America are included" MBUSA confirms.

Where did you find the part about none in the USA? That doesn’t make sense to me since the GLE is produced in the US and shipments to Europe are interspersed with US bound cars…with the same basic vehicle except maybe for diesels.

Here is the source:
Daimler confirmed the letter was authentic. No vehicles in North America are included, a spokesman for Mercedes-Benz USA told Automotive News in an email.

Affected models must be diesel or hybrids. The GLE 350e is not sold in the USA for example. I bet it's the hybrids. The coolant must be leaking on high voltage electrical components to be a fire risk, otherwise water cools down engine parts, not heating them up.

Yup, the diesel (from another thread shared by another forum member):

"According to Bild, this concerns the diesel versions of the Mercedes GLC, GLE, GLS, CLS, C-,E-, and S-Class and also the G-Class off-road vehicle. These cars with engine versions OM 654 or 656 would have been produced from January 2017 to October 2021."

I called my dealer today and confirmed the fire hazard is with the Diesel models not Gas or hybrid models. This is why they say no North America cars were impacted. Mercedes does not offer Diesel engines in North america anymore.
