Question Washing rear window

I noticed that my washer fluid does not spray the rear window. Am I doing something wrong, I push in the button and the front windshield gets sprayed however the rear window does not. How do I tell if my washer fluid is low? Sorry to bother you guys with such a mundane issue, however, just drove down to Florida from New York and the amount of salt that accumulated on the windows and painted surfaces was huge. The body felt like sandpaper from the salt and I need to find a place to hand wash my GLE. BTW, the GLE was a pleasure to drive.

There are separate buttons for the front window sprayer (silver button on end of wiper stalk) and rear window sprayer (1st button on the face of the stalk). I have found that if you don't use the rear window sprayer often, you have to hold the button down a little while for the fluid to come out.

On a related note, I'm a little disappointed that the wiper stalk buttons do not illuminate at night (at least on my car!)

.
Also if I'm not mistaken you have to press that small first button in to a second level. A superficial press will just turn on the wiper, you have to press a bit deeper and hold it down for the fluid to start coming out of the rear. You should hear the pump even if no fluid is coming out yet.

Thanks, just stopped at a Mercedes dealership in Pompano Beach, Florida. He showed me the w buttons on the stalk. Since I may have never used it before I needed to hold it down for a longer duration. I guess it uses the same washer fluid reservoir and needs more time to travel to the back. Thanks

Be grateful you didn’t have a leak in the line traveling along the ceiling to the rear.

I had the same problem but my switch was defective. The dealer replaced it under warranty.

Me too...Defective switch from the first time I tried it. Had to replace a lot of the steering wheel for that button.

I tried using my rear wiper fluid for the first time today and nothing was coming out even after pressing buttons 1 for a good minute or two. How long did you it take for anything to come out for you guys?

Nvm… got it figured out I wasn’t pressing the button hard enough for that 2nd click.
