Over air update
The first two times were on long trips to Colorado after having stopped for gas. The third time happened last week not 10 minutes from home.
Acting on a hunch, I went to the Mercedes Me website and found that new maps are available for my area. Supposedly my home location receives updates over the air but other regions must be updated manually. A flash drive formatted properly and the Mercedes download manager program installed made this a fairly easy process. I now have updated maps for any state I am likely to visit in the coming months. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.
By the way, backup data on that storage medium depending on what you ended up using (usb drive or sd card), since installing maps on it will wipe it clean.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
So here is something that is either ingenious or an outrageous bunch of bs. Asked them to check alignment as car seemed to have a very slight drift to the right. I have not hit a single pothole or curb, etc. Have 3500 miles on car. SA said this drift was normal as MB sets this as spec for safety reasons. He said if someone falls asleep at the wheel, MB wants car to drift off road rather than into oncoming traffic. Again, ingenious or a huge load of bs. I can’t decide.
