G, GLE, and GLS V8's To Return for 2022 in May
I'm friends with my general manager at my store and he told me today that he just received word from Benz that GLE, GLS, and G-Wagon V8 models will make a return for 2022 with builds being produced in May of this year. He said that order banks would likely open next week with allocation sizes unknown and that they are contacting potential customers next week. No word on E-Class's however.

Do you know what his source is?
We were told the opposite; nothing other than the S and SL will be produced with a V8 for the 2022 MY. I guess that doesn't mean early 2023 models couldn't arrive.

He said Benz, news just came in to him within the last 24 hours apparently, and that they would start being built in May. Could mean an early 2023 similar to 2020 GLE's coming out in early 2019.

Is there more news on the reason for the to-be-lifted (good news) suspension?
One speculation was the reason was an undefined “quality problem”.
Another could be the chip crisis.
Is any fresh news from MB available?

They have sold enough BEV’s, PHEV’s to add a few V8’s, IMO. I’ll see if my order for a GLE 63 S goes through on Tuesday.

Hey guys I just went to the dealer today !
100k PLUS 170k ! The dealerships have now added the “premium fee” now I suggest no one go through with this because once it all settles down you’ll have paid 270k for a car you will not get your money back for. I’m seeing 2021 g wagons for 400k it’s ridiculous and they are price gouging. I’m sorry fellow g wag fans I might be switching to the new range unfortunately this is getting out of hand .

I was talking to two different leaders of two different dealerships recently (at different times) and they both said they think it will be a long time before things get back to normal. One even joked, “why should we? I’ve had one of my slowest but best few months ever.” The dealerships have seen that people we pay a lot more with very little inventory available and therefore they have more time to do other things.
