CarPlay

So today I’ve been driving around using Google maps on Apple CarPlay. The turn-by-turn direction and distance indicators was displaying in the left HUD panel with Google maps. I’ve never noticed that working before, is that new? Previously I thought that would only work with the Mercedes navigation. I was very happy with Google maps and how it linked to the HUD.

It works like that on mine if the iPhone is physically connected, not if it's connected wirelessly (e.g. using a Carlinkit dongle)

I had my phone physically connected also, but I did not try it with Skype or Apple Maps. That’s a good question.

It also works with Apple maps. Google maps added that feature just lately.
