MBUX upgraded to a new version

My MBUX was upgraded from 063 to 081.
I have noticed that now when I say hey Mercedes and start talking there's a glow on the side of the speaker.
So if the passenger speaks it glows on the right side.
Not only that, but if the passenger says "start massage" it already knows that the passenger asks for it, and it will do it for the passenger side, and vice versa,
so you don't need to be specific like I had to before.

I also noticed that the navigation keyboard has a microphone that you can dictate to, and it works well.

I know that some had this version updated OTA, but mine did not for whatever reason.

Anyone else that upgraded from an older version noticed anything else interesting?

Sounds interesting. I've a 2022 delivered in February and not sure if it came with this. Anyone else?

That was a feature on my 2020, and has been there since my 2021 was delivered March '21. You can also see rear passenger mikes lighting up in the lower L or R corner of the display.

My 2020 had a mis-firing (deaf) microphone over the Driver's head, so I had to yell at the Passenger mike and specify "Start DRIVER'S massage." New mike fixed it. There was some foam blocking the mike, likely a poor installation.

Since it's 2022 then most likely yes.

You can check in the settings --> System --> System Information --> Software Version

You can send the info or a picture here and it can be verified.

Mask your VIN if it's in the picture.

Thank you.
I was able to verify that I have version 080. I will ask to upgrade when I take the car in for its first A service.

Cheers

Does yours also doesn't update via OTA for some reason?

Yes. Seems odd that yours would be so out of date.

Indeed being a 2022. All I have are 3 OTAs and all for map updates.
Has everyone following this thread been able to verify such update to the sound system OTA?

I do not find "System Information" under "System."

I think it’s always been there but you need to scroll to the bottom…might have had a different name originally. I did find one menu option missing after an update last year so anything’s possible.
I’ve never had an MBUX firmware update OTA. Maybe my Dealer updated mine before one was available…on 081 currently.

The closest thing I've got is "Software Update" with switch to turn OTA updates on & off, but it says "no update available."

You need to scroll down, It's just above the "Reset" option.

I verified again, and it says "System Info"

I remember checking this also with my older original MBUX (V63), and there was a way to check this, but maybe it was a bit different, still it was under system for sure.

I know for certain that I could always check my MBUX software version since I did it in 2019 on my 2020 GLE 450. There was a thread back then about an update. It might have been in another location or a different heading but it should be there somewhere.

Not there for me under "System" (guess I could have cleaned the screen!):

You're on the original/first version. The software information screen was added in FUP2/063.
Latest is FUP3/081 now. You should get your car updated by the dealer.

As I understand it, the dealer will not do such an update unless there is a specific problem that needs to be addressed by it, and it takes like 4 hours to install. Anyone had luck just getting it done under warranty? I guess I could claim to have the "black screen of death" occasionally.

On the thread regarding less than impressive Bermester sound, I see quite a few were updated to the latest MBUX version at no charge.

I had asked for this last time I was in, but what they did was "updated audio command module per LI82.85-P-069381"

.
As I recall I think I mentioned that my screen went black or had some errors one time and the SA put that in as the justification for the MBUX upgrade.

On mine it was between PIN and Reset, I guess your software is older than my original 063, or there is some other reason.

I have an appointment this Saturday morning to have a thumping noise/vibration on the steering wheel when I brake or sometimes when I turn the wheel looked at and will request the MBUX upgrade to 081. I will let you know if they do it and make sure there's no charge for it.

I have the same version (081) but no glowing light next to speakers. . Does this flow occur at night when. You speak? I believe my updates Re updated at this time.
