just bought a mag safe case that replaced a generic clear case for my iphone 13 pro max but keep getting a message that the inductive surface has something on it and needs to be cleared so wireless charging will work. galaxy S21+ charges with no problem. is there a specific brand of clear case that is known to work with the iphone 13 pro max or is there an issue regarding wireless charging not working with it? there is NOTHING on the wireless pad and nothing between the phones and cases and nothing on the cases whatsoever yet the S21+ works and the iphone does not. thanks in advance.
I used to use the Mous clear case for my 12 pro Max. Although it will charge the phone without issues, it was a PITA to get it in and out of the wireless charging pad if there are cups in the cup holders.
I've had good results with an iPhone X in the car. The new iPhone 13 is constantly switching between charging started and ended. Even with NO case, it does this.
Have you removed the case and confirmed that it is in fact the problem? My iPhone 12 Mini refuses to charge on the pad under any circumstances (I started a thread on it a few months ago). It was suggested that a firmware update will fix it (see below). I haven't had the car in for service, so I cannot confirm.
If you do need to try another case, I'd recommend a mag-compatible case from Spigen. You should be able to find one on Amazon.
There is a software update for the pad. My 13 was doing same thing took it in dealer already knew about the problem many complaints she said. Not to worry she said there is a software update for the charging pad. Picked up car next day from dealer charging pad works now with my 13 and apple leather case on it.
There is a bulletin for it. Apparently, the dealer can update the firmware of the cradle: Updated Software charging pad bulletin:
