Opened the 450 motor
So today after 1500 kilometers of babying the 450 motor I decided to flip the switch to sport. I noticed a few things that I was surely expecting but was not ready for it. Off the line the car really pulls like IT PULLS! Noticed the POWER indicator goes full bar and is instant. Torque is rich on the power band and completely transforms the vehicle especially when you drive it in ECO or even in COMFORT. I only have the regular 2 port exhaust but I can hear it growl a little bit louder so I cannot imagine what it sounds like with the 4 port active exhaust (damn MB for deleting it). Somehow I am scared to drive it on that setting as when I was driving it I saw all of the vehicles on my rear view mirror and was wondering why and looked down and I was hitting 120kph on a 60kph road and did not even noticed it as the vehicle was so damn quiet. Can't imagine anyone wanting a GLE53 or 63 as this is scary enough to think a 5000 lb SUV can move like that. Most likely that setting will only be used for emergency purposes only like "I need to go to the washroom emergency!". Fuel consumption did dipped a little bit but not much like +1.5-2 L/100 km so the penalty of having fun is not too bad.
