Tire Repair Kits

My car didn’t come with a spare. Instead it came with a tire kit that uses an internal spray foam and 12 volt compressor. However, I hate those fix-a-flat in a can.

My friend told me about using a real tire fix kit that most tire shops use. After doing some research, there’s not much too it and it can be done on the road. I just need to buy a jack and keep this kit in my car. Does anyone know if MB sells an OEM jack that will fit in what’s left of the spare tire well with a high-end Burmester?

Can anyone take a picture of the OEM jack in the trunk?

That kit looks like a pretty complete outfit. What most don't have is something to remove the screw or nail, so pliers are good.
I'm not a fan of reamers, though, and I use a different plug kit called Dynaplug, adding pliers and a cheap combination screwdriver.

As you can see from your videos, it takes some muscle to get the plugs installed. An advantage of the Dynaplug is that you can wet the tire with spit, which makes insertion fairly easy.
Lighter and smaller, too.

I have not seen the space left with the 3D Burmester - pic? Here is the jack at the bottom of the photo in the spare tire well.

Thanks, Greg. It appears the molded housing for the jack won’t fit in my car with the tire repair kit. So I’ll just have to secure it somehow so it doesn’t rattle around.

If it will fit, just wrap it in a towel, which can be useful itself.

Yeah it will fit, but the molding won’t. I’ll just wrap it in a towel as you suggested.

For some reason I can’t select the second video I tried posting. There’s another one that shows the repair while the wheel is still on the vehicle.

Our Michelin Rep advised against reaming, because of further damage to the belts. That was a long time ago (last Century!) and things may have changed, but I still adhere.
Also notice how hard it was to insert.

I'll give another Dynaplug "Plug," since it helps with both issues.
Don't forget the pliers.

(Wow, plugged "hundreds of tires!" I'm glad I don't drive where he does!)
