Question Creaking rubber seals in door frames, pano roof...?

I've noticed about the last 30+ days, everything around me seems to creak when I turn into parking lots, go over bumps - even turn corners or hit uneven pavement. I saw a post in the V166 forum where this was an issue, but curious if anyone has had this issue w/ V167? It sounds like it can be remedied with a cleaner and protectant on the rubber seals. I'm ordering this off Amazon: nextzett 91480615 'Gummi Pflege Stift' Rubber Care Stick - 3.4 fl. oz - which I've used in the past to condition a convertible top. Anyone else have experience with this issue & resolving it?

I’ve experienced this issue with my BMW. The rubber seal between the driver’s side door and glass would cause noise whenever the body flexed. I never bothered to get it fixed as I just got use to it, but whenever I washed my car I would apply Aerospace 303 on the seal and the noise would stop for a while. I’m sure that Gummi would work better.

I’ve read horror stories from other people experiencing the same issue with the door seal. The fix was to replace the entire seal. However, it would often get worse just because the new seal was thicker.

This is a very common problem, especially if you wipe down the inside of the door jams and the gaskets every time you wash the vehicle with a microfiber towel. Fortunately it is a very easy fix. I purchased this tube of SIL- GLYDE at AutoZone for about seven or eight dollars — absolutely solved the problem. Apply it to the outer gasket around the door windows. Looks like it lasts about two years, I just started to notice a couple creeks every now and then on mine again, going to reapply soon…it literally only takes five minutes. Go to your car and push the top of the door frame from the outside and you’ll hear the creaking, so when you apply the SIL-GLYDE push the top of the door frame and if you can’t hear the creaking anymore, you’ve got enough on the door gasket.

Someone posted another more permanent solution in this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...oor-seals.html by using 3M’s clear squeak reduction tape or something to that effect.

I also recently found this as it was driving me mad. My solution so far at 4.5k miles on the odometer is when I notice the squeaking I just take a wet microfiber and clean the seals. When this stops working I think I'll try the 3m tape. Free fix > $17 tape for now. I also would prefer the tape over any grease/lubricant if it's a cleaner "gunk" free fix.
