keyless entry issues with 22 GLE 450

We bought my wife's 22 GLE 450 about 3 months ago. Pretty much since we bought it , the keyless entry system hasnt worked right . Most of the time I cant just walk up to the car and open the door . I have to get the keys out and push the unlock button. Also sometimes while driving I get the no key in vehicle found. The dealer has reprogrammed everything, and then on a second visit replaced the antenna for the system. No bueno. It feels like the remote goes into standby mode and doesnt wake up until a button is pushed. I have been playing with pushing a button on the remote in the store and so far 3/3 times the remote works then . Still not enough testing to know for sure.
Anyone else have these issues ?

Is it the same with both keys? If it is, then it sounds like a car transceiver issue. If it only happens with one key, then that key is probably broken and I would ask for a new one.

Although they shouldn't be bad but have you checked the remotes batteries?

This place is a joke.
The keys are designed to go to sleep after a while for security purposes. Try shaking the key before you approach the car the next few times.

What Frenetic & Greasemonkey said. Try to do a little troubleshooting yourself. Many key fobs in 2019 (2020 model) went to sleep and wouldn’t wake up until you shook them or pressed a button. I was given replacement Fobs May 2019 that worked consistently. My 2021’s are great. The neat thing about the Mercedes Fob is that thieves are not going to be able to easily clone it from your home while you are sleeping and steal your car if parked on the street.
There is also a function pressing two buttons simultaneously and then +/- that disables some Fob unlocking functions. I don’t recall exactly how it works but check your owners manual. Basically it puts your Fob in sleep mode until you reverse the process. I had that happen to mine somehow and as I recall it might have disabled the NFC so the door unlock didn’t work. The Dealer should have checked that so it’s not as likely the issue.
Edit: since you have a 2020 I’m guessing you have the shaking Fob issue.

This is one thing that has annoyed the hell out of me for as long as I've owned the car. I complain about it every time I have the car in to the dealership and they replace the battery. I've become trained to shake the remote in my pocket if I can't lock or unlock the doors.

You might try for a replacement to the new Fob number noted above. Since the Dealer won’t likely be able to replicate the condition…take a video or two showing the failure to unlock and then shake the Fob to show it working. Mercedes knows of the issue but might be reluctant to fix it without evidence.

Thanks Ron. I'll do that, and mention the new part number.

2020 Mercedes GLE 450
Same thing happened for me a while back, and I got the dealer to replace both key.
The way I "demo" it to them is by locking the car with key, then place it on a chair next to the door. After about 5 minutes, without moving the key, try unlocking the door with the handle. The "bad" key won't unlock (go to sleep too fast?) but the replacement key stay awake for longer.
I also believe the old and new key has a different part number? (or some identification number at the back of the key)
