Upgrade the basic sound system

Hi all,
I opted for a stock car which is equipped with the standard sound system.
It sounds ok but the DSP removes the bas when I increase the volume above 55%.
I read that the Burmester standard system is pretty OK but my dealer says it is impossible to retrofit the standard Burmester system in the car.
Anyone has experiences with aftermarket options? Remark: I have no place in the trunk as I have the 350de model.
Thanks!

I agree, I did a side-by-side test with Burmester and standard system in the showroom at 30-40% (not wanting to start a party in the showroom ;-) ) and I concluded the standard system will be ok.
But once you increase up to 60%, you can clearly hear that Mercedes removes the bass to save the woofer. Unfortunately did not test that.

Probably the easiest thing to do is find “plug-and-play” speaker upgrades. I tried searching myself and I couldn’t really find too much, maybe others might know. I did find this: https://www.emphaser.com/products/up...-benz/?lang=en
Other manufacturers, like BMW for example, has strong aftermarket support for “plug-and-play” type upgrades that were astoundingly good. https://www.bavsound.com
I don’t know if Mercedes has the same support when it comes to such upgrades. It might require something more custom/aftermarket.

Here's one that shows compatibility by brand, model and installed audio system. Yes, BMW is there, too.

Google "Match," which is a high-end speaker company that also provides sophisticated control units.

Several manufacturers, amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, wiring harnesses, tools. Several manufacturers. Hope this link works.
Edit: that's not a direct link either. I'll scout the site for a better link. Its there.

You can also use that link to go to their main site, at the top of the page, and see all the brands that can also be adapted but not all are Plug and Play.

Audiotec Fischer Match seems like a professional alternative but indeed, I did not find a plug 'n play replacement specific for the GLE.
I have e-mailed a dealer of Audiotec Fischer but no response so far.
I'll update if I have news.

Make sure you choose English as your language.
Let us know.
Edit: Well, I've revisited the link I posted and now I can't find the plug and Play list. I'll keep trying.

My installer already did a GLS that had the Burmester system and he replaced everything with Gladen-Mosconi.
I ordered a kit for my GLE, I'll take the car for installation next week.
This is the kit for the Subwoofers, Front Doors and 6 channel amplifier with harness.
SOUNDUP GA-SU-MB-167-BASIC
https://www.gladen.com/en-us/soundup/soundup-mercedes
For the rear doors, you can use these component speakers.
(it's the same as the front door components of the kit above)
GLADEN 100.2 MBM
https://www.gladen.com/en-us/gladen/...-one-100-2-mbm
If you like to add the surround speakers you may need an additional amplifier. I have no idea about the speaker model for the surround location.
I hope it helps. My installer said that the GLS Burmester system was awful and the owner was super satisfied with the Gladen (and frustrated with the Mercedes salesman that offered him the option for 4K$).

The only fully plug and play aftermarket option for GLE (V167) or GLS (C167) that I've found is from Gladen with Mosconi amplifier.

Separately, here's a full install of the Gladen speakers:

The Mosconi amplifiers include DSP and are adjustable using computer software. The installer showed me a head-like microphone that goes in the driver seat and connects to the computer for tuning.
We are going to use the 8 channel amplifier instead of the 6 channel model that comes with the kit (I think he ordered it as special kit) to include power for the rear door speakers.

The 6 channel version is this one.
