Just an update for anyone following or wanting to do the same. The "4.2" fit perfectly. Took about 30 min per side after watching the YouTube video on how to get the carpet up. I did NOT pull the seats. I just carefully bent back the carpet and it fell back into place with no wrinkles.
It sounds better. Won't really shake the car but it does add a little more low end.
Check this link for the video my installer did for the GLE 450 audio upgrade to Gladen Mosconi.
The improvement in sound quality is impressive, much better than Burmester. We still need to adjust some EQ to my personal taste (and a quick lesson on how to use the mixer/eq software, so I can play with it).
I wondered what that spot is for? Does anyone know if you have to use the speaker input from the subs to power an additional sub box? Is there an rca out anywhere to tap off of?
Follow up to the gladen install above, watched the video and did you only do the front seats? Did you do back/surround speakers?
It seems like that gladen dsp didnt have enough channels to do all speakers. Is that right?

I upgraded all the speakers and added surround in the C Pillar.
Front : Gladen 8" + 4" + Tweeter.
Rear door : Gladen 4" + Tweeter (same speakers as the front door)
Surround : Focal coaxial 4"
For the amplifier/DSP we used 8 ch (Pico 8|10), instead of the original 6ch (Pico 6|8) from the Mosconi kit.
Front : fully active (one channel per speaker), 6ch in total.
Rear : 2 ch with the speaker's crossover
Surround : additional small amp connected to the Mosconi line output (controlled by the DSP, as it is 10ch)
If you use the 6ch Mosconi amp you can have a semi-active Front setup and use the provided crossover for 4" and tweeter.
Front : 8" & 4" + tweeter (4 ch)
Rear : 4" + tweeter (2ch)
You'll still need an additional amp for the 2 surround speakers.
If you want to add a subwoofer in the trunk, use a 4ch amp for the surround + bridged output to power the subwoofer.

Quick question. Did you upgrade the center channel or leave that alone? I would think that would be more important than the c-pillar surround speakers…
QUOTE=krzyoldgy;8958158]The only fully plug and play aftermarket option for GLE (V167) or GLS (C167) that I've found is from Gladen with Mosconi amplifier.
My installer already did a GLS that had the Burmester system and he replaced everything with Gladen-Mosconi.
I ordered a kit for my GLE, I'll take the car for installation next week.
This is the kit for the Subwoofers, Front Doors and 6 channel amplifier with harness.
If you like to add the surround speakers you may need an additional amplifier. I have no idea about the speaker model for the surround location.
I hope it helps. My installer said that the GLS Burmester system was awful and the owner was super satisfied with the Gladen (and frustrated with the Mercedes salesman that offered him the option for 4K$).[/QUOTE]
