AIRMATCI SUSPENSION IN GLE450 with 21”

I am planning to build a GLE450 with build date October second week. I have few question before finalizing the build for GLE 450.

Is the Airmatic suspension package a must or can be ignored.

Thanks

Get it. The ride is more comfortable with it just be prepared for a expensive fix after 4 years as those airmatics fail over time. For me the GLE with springs is more bouncy and this is the same thing with the previous gen but when the vehicle is loaded it wont feel bouncy at all. If you will be towing and puting a lot of load it also helps in leveling the vehicle. On sport mode the vehicle drops down as well and makes the vehicle look sportier with 21" rims.

I think it's a must have. Gives you load levelling, height adjustment and all around better ride. While it is a system that has things that can go wrong, my W166 had no issues with it in 7 years.

Coming from a cushy Lincoln, I thought I wanted the Airmatic until I test drove the standard suspension paired with the 21" wheels (conventional tires, not runflats). My wife and I both feel the tuning of the steel springs is great - no regrets. If I had the opportunity to order a new GLE tomorrow I might change a few other options, but I'd definitely order it without the Airmatic.

I have it without it and

I bought it with out and what a mistake. It feels like a sponge. Take the soft closing doors and airmatic a must. Actually if I was going to do it over I would take all options aside from the 8k suspension option.
