I saw someone recommended Amazon. To be honest, If you place an order on Amazon, you can only ask Amazon for help. But Amazon's service is slow and often unresolved. I asked the website, they only provides technical service support for customers who purchased products on https://carlinkitlife.com directly. So that's why I finally decided to buy on the website to get guaranteed service.
I rather have a easy return policy (no hassle) than cust. service as I have found out that it is easier for me to figure things out than rely on a rep. trying to figure an issue out.
CarLinkIt works great in my Porsche, but doesn’t work worth a damn in the ‘20 GLE 450. It is laggy; my car shows on the map 1/2 mile behind where I am. Crashes multiple times on a 30 minute trip. Firmware is current.
Anyone have better luck with a wireless CarPlay adapter other than CarLinkIt?
CarLinkit works fine for me in the GLE but doesn’t work at all in my Polestar 2, which has the Android Automotive infotainment system. However an Ottocast works fine on both cars.

I bought this for Android Auto and it works flawlessly. They have a Carplay one too:

What I like about it is the USB C so no adapter. Short trips I keep my phone in my pocket. I can feel my phone get warm in my pocket. For 30-45min trips I put it on the wireless charger and it still increases the battery percentage for me but very little since like others have said, the wireless charging isn't putting put many watts. Long road trips, I hardwire it. Much better Amazon reviews than other products on the market, cheaper too. My only guess as to why it works well is that it doesn't support both platforms, instead it's dedicated to AA or CP so it doesn't have to do any type of negotiation or extra bloatware to accommodate both.

Guys, this is definitely a spam! Look at the author of this post. He just has two posts. One was made last year and another one was made this year.

While the Carlink post may be considered spam, the website is legit. I bought a Carlink 3.0 from the site a little over a year ago for my 20 Acura MDX. Device was promptly delivered, and easy plug and play setup. I used it for Waze and it worked great. I have not tried the device with my 20 GLS as I use the navigation with live traffic, and a thumb drive and XM for music.

There are several of the same thing on Amazon so I'm not sure if the above is the best deal. What was important to me is the USB C pigtail and dedicated platform to AA or CP making it so much faster and less buggy than another one I've tried, Ottocast which is dual platform just like carlink. For my AA, it works great. From cold start, my wireless AA starts playing Spotify and shows Waze maps by the time I put my car in drive from backing out of my garage and 30ft driveway.
What wireless devices are the easiest to switch back and forth bw factory interface and CarPlay. In my 2017 X5m all you had to do was hit the CarPlay icon on the touchscreen or hold the menu button down for about 2 sec to switch back and forth. Also I lost no instrument cluster display features or functionality. The 2021 GLE 63S seems way more integrated and dependent on the entire MBUX system so switching back and forth would be important.

Are there any plans to support showing navigation information in the instrument cluster/hud (2nd screen) with any CarLinkIt adapters? I have the CarLinkIt 5 and currently album art displays on the second screen (which is great!), but no navigation information. If this can be rectified, it would be the perfect adapter. I would really, really like this capability.
