As usual, @mikapen is correct. Even if you have this feature enabled, you will only see the countdown at intersections that have stoplights that are equipped with X-to-X communication. I have only seen it pop up in NYC; 99% of the time, it is not available.
Do we need dashcam or augmented reality package for this feature?

I am fairly certain that Dashcam and AR have nothing to do with it, since it is not camera based, rather X-to-X communication. Having said that, I do not recall which package; perhaps Driver's Assistance Package (Plus).

The user manual (pages 220-222 for the MY2022) indicates that it is included with the Navigation service through Mercedes me.
Excerpt:
The function is supported under the following conditions:
- The vehicle is equipped with a multimedia system featuring navigation and a communication module with an activated, integrated SIM card.
- You have a user account for the Mercedes me Portal.
- The vehicle has been connected with the user account.
- The navigation services option is available, subscribed to and activated in the Mercedes me Portal.
- The traffic light data service belongs to the scope of the navigation services.
There's also some other info about when it will and won't work.
Not sure which subscription it is part of, but here is a list of them all: https://shop.mbusa.com/en-us/connect/
MB gives you one year of everything for free when you buy your car, then afterwards you have to pay. Are you already past your first free year?
Do you have the following services enabled and current in Mercedes Me Connect?
Car-to-X comm is enabled. Connected Traffic Light is disabled (it has a buy icon). When i click Buy it doesn't show anything in portal to purchase. MB Connect also doesn't have any clue on why Connected Traffic Light is disabled.
Well the fact that Traffic Light is disabled explains it. Not sure why you can't purchase it. Do you know if you even have any "connected" traffic lights in your area? If not, then probably not even worth purchasing.
I received the below update from MB. Did anyone receive this update? or have this option disabled recently?
"Connected Traffic Light Services has been sundowned, and will be removed from customer vehicles. MBUSA had requested this for this service."
Therefore, the feature is no longer part of any packages in the Mercedes me Store, and is not included in any of the services the Customer purchased for his car. The update to the Head Unit will be released that will remove the message about this service and also about missing licences. According to Mercedes-Benz USA decision this service is no longer offered and cannot be activated.

Mine expires in a month. Oh well. Only popped up once for me; therefore, I won't miss it.

QUOTE=deanrose;8654174]Hi All –
New Owner of a 22 GLE450 here. Couple of questions specific to MBUX Operation and what I should or should not be seeing.
First, I understand that the vehicle has the Traffic Light Information Service which “should” alert you as to traffic light conditions upon approaching the (supporting) traffic light. I know of at least two traffic lights on my route that have this technology as my most recent Audi also had this technology and it worked great, but I'm not getting any indication on my GLE450. Does the Traffic Light Info Service necessitate a Paid Hotspot Internet subscription (thru T-Mobile) to operate? Other feature like online searching from Navigation for destinations works fine and without the paid internet feature.
Second question, I though I read that additional NATIVE Apps, e.g. Spotify, Amazon Music were available (w/o using Apple CarPlay) as an “App” in the App section of MBux? If so, I’m not seeing them at all. What feature service is this tied to in our Services Dashboard? And does it also require the paid Hotspot internet feature to operate and / or can I use my phone’s Hotspot to supply the internet connection.
Confused and any assistance would be appreciated.[/QUOTE]

The traffic light info no longer works, they did away with it about 9 months ago. In NYC it worked at every single light and I really liked knowing exactly how much time is left. This is gone and apparently never coming back . You will get the video display if you have AR so you can see on video when the light turns green

As far as the native music apps, spotify, tidal, amazon music there listed not under apps. You can find them under I believe sources in the audio menu. I can't remember 100% if thats definetly where they are but 110% there in the audio menu setup. They'll have you do the QR thing on your phone so make sure you have the apps installed already on your phone and logged in and its a pretty easy and seamless process
