Option 491 Lowered Suspension

Option 491 Lowered Suspension

I am working on a configuration for a 2023 GLE450 build. One of the options in the configuration is "491 lowered suspension with steel springs". Anyone know what this is? Is it required when the AIRMATIC suspension is ordered?

I got my data card from konigstiger and it shows that I also have 491 lowered suspension on my 2021 350:

On my build sheet it only shows 491 US Equipment:

Not sure if having an AMG Exterior package would add this.

I have a 350 on order (AMG/Night) and my build sheet shows this code as well. I did not order the Airmatic.

Seems like just a default factory code?

It does not appear to be related to the AMG package. Here's a non AMG build sheet with the 491 code:

Going through the same thing right now...and learned that the 491 gets added if you add the Tow Package so it has something to do with that.

I have a MY 22 GLE 450 - Data Card shows this option, but I do not have a tow package. You might get a more direct/accurate answer by asking sales.

Yeah...in the one that I've been building, adding the Tow Package added the 491 Lowered Suspension. Removing the Tow Package removed the 491.

Not saying that it might not be tied to something else as well, I just know that in my case it was the Tow Package.

Well, the build sheet for my wife's 2022 has "491 US Equipment". It doesn't look lower than others, it definitely is under sprung/dampened, I can find no suspension upgrades for it, and I'm generally unimpressed and disappointed. However, was her purchase not mine and she is happy.
