I had our 2020 GLE serviced at RBM Atlanta this week.
They basically robbed me. I asked for a Service B. The guy told me they usually include brake flush and cabin air filter when they do service B. I said yes I know. Here is Mercedes definition of Service A and Service B from MBUSA.com
So when I go to pick up my car. He charged me $450 for Service B, $200 for a brake fluid exchange, and $160 for a cabin air filter change.
I pointed out that the latter two items are included in Service B and should not be extra.
He said RBM Atlanta has their own different definition of Service B to “save customers money”. Here is RBM’s definition of Service B
Half these items are not relevant to my GLE. And I paid to install 2 new tires so I didn’t even get a 4 tire rotation.
Basically this dealership has invented their own definition of Service B so they can charge an extra $360 for Service B.

Maybe you should understand what you are paying for before you agree to get your service.
I think those costs are reasonable for a GLE B service at the dealership. I was quoted about $800 for mine last year. $150 to $200 is about right for Brake Flush...

the issue here s I know what I was paying for. I was paying for Mercedes Benz Service B as defined on mbusa.com and in my owners manual.
they changed the definition of service B in a deliberately misleading way.
It sounds like you got a full service fee for $810. A pretty good deal, compared to what others have reported for their B service.
My recent B cost $1050 with wipers and the additive I forgot to deny when I OK'd the RO.
IDK why your dealer divided the B Service into a Menu, but if you're going to keep your car, it's a good idea to do as you've done. Good price, too.
When I had my first "A" service, I was quoted $500, and was told that "B" would be $1,500. Therefore after 30K miles, two "A"s and a "B" it would cost $2,500. Purchased a service package for $2,000. Seemed like a good deal. I asked around to other locals, and they experienced similar pricing. Although, on this forum, I see members paying far less.

Also the A service is basically an oil and filter change and a bunch of minor inspections. Hard to explain the $500 price tag on that at your dealer.
At my BMW dealer, I used to buy all these services a-la-carte. I would buy the parts from their parts department, and then pay for labor based on time. Was much cheaper than Service A or B.

Yeah a bit of sticker shock. I knew it was going to be expensive; but $500 for oil change is excessive. I was spoiled with my X5; came with complimentary service for 80K miles. Although, I'm sure they made up for it in the price.

I would think most any dealer would do the same, but there are drawbacks.
You'll be getting the Oil Change Tech only, because most full-certified Techs only work on the Flat Rate schedule, which includes snagging the car, securing parts and completing the paperwork. Snagging and paperwork is probably .5 hours by themselves.
If you're not looking for an inspection or updates, you could do that.
I like the Full Factory Trained techs snooping around with the latest insight, especially on these new gen cars and tech.

I bought the 5 year Audi Service for my wife’s 2018 SQ5 because she never wants a new car. They jacked up pricing a bunch soon after. Two years Service costs almost what I paid for 4 (first is free). They have done software updates each service interval, even at year 5. I know because some of my custom coding has to be done over again…minor stuff, not a tune.
Mercedes service prices seem high to me but in big Metro areas they really know how to charge. Las Vegas wanted double and had some extras so I waited til I got home. I wonder if Mercedes does any optional software updates! I know they have done some on my car but they might have been required ones to fix bugs. The Tech doing the work (as Mike mentioned) and updates would be one reason to pay the price vs DIY or Indy

I think this is not OK. Our dealer performs limited B-services if they are time and not mileage based. In our case we had less than 8k miles on the car 2 years in. B service cost $287 with taxes. Come to think of it, I got the A-Service for free via coupon from another dealer
Since the service intervals, types and services rendered are defined by Mercedes and not the dealer, there should be no freedom to invent add-ons.
I agree with the OP here. The issue, per se, isn't the price, it's the fact that the dealership made up their own thing despite the fact that Mercedes has long established the "A" and "B" service schedules. If I walk in to an authorized dealer and say I want the "B" service for my car, they should give me exactly what that is as specified by the manufacturer. If they have an alternate package that they feel is a better option for their customers, by all means, they should offer that, but they shouldn't name it "B" service. I don't even see an upside for them here since their overall pricing doesn't seem out of line with what other dealers charge for the full "B" service.
