Do not use RBM Atlanta Service




They basically robbed me. I asked for a Service B. The guy told me they usually include brake flush and cabin air filter when they do service B. I said yes I know. Here is Mercedes definition of Service A and Service B from MBUSA.com
So when I go to pick up my car. He charged me $450 for Service B, $200 for a brake fluid exchange, and $160 for a cabin air filter change.
I pointed out that the latter two items are included in Service B and should not be extra.
He said RBM Atlanta has their own different definition of Service B to “save customers money”. Here is RBM’s definition of Service B
Half these items are not relevant to my GLE. And I paid to install 2 new tires so I didn’t even get a 4 tire rotation.
Basically this dealership has invented their own definition of Service B so they can charge an extra $360 for Service B.
Let’s all boycott this dealership.

I think those costs are reasonable for a GLE B service at the dealership. I was quoted about $800 for mine last year. $150 to $200 is about right for Brake Flush...

the issue here s I know what I was paying for. I was paying for Mercedes Benz Service B as defined on mbusa.com and in my owners manual.
they changed the definition of service B in a deliberately misleading way.




My recent B cost $1050 with wipers and the additive I forgot to deny when I OK'd the RO.
IDK why your dealer divided the B Service into a Menu, but if you're going to keep your car, it's a good idea to do as you've done. Good price, too.

Also the A service is basically an oil and filter change and a bunch of minor inspections. Hard to explain the $500 price tag on that at your dealer.
At my BMW dealer, I used to buy all these services a-la-carte. I would buy the parts from their parts department, and then pay for labor based on time. Was much cheaper than Service A or B.

Yeah a bit of sticker shock. I knew it was going to be expensive; but $500 for oil change is excessive. I was spoiled with my X5; came with complimentary service for 80K miles. Although, I'm sure they made up for it in the price.

You'll be getting the Oil Change Tech only, because most full-certified Techs only work on the Flat Rate schedule, which includes snagging the car, securing parts and completing the paperwork. Snagging and paperwork is probably .5 hours by themselves.
If you're not looking for an inspection or updates, you could do that.
I like the Full Factory Trained techs snooping around with the latest insight, especially on these new gen cars and tech.

Mercedes service prices seem high to me but in big Metro areas they really know how to charge. Las Vegas wanted double and had some extras so I waited til I got home. I wonder if Mercedes does any optional software updates! I know they have done some on my car but they might have been required ones to fix bugs. The Tech doing the work (as Mike mentioned) and updates would be one reason to pay the price vs DIY or Indy





Since the service intervals, types and services rendered are defined by Mercedes and not the dealer, there should be no freedom to invent add-ons.
