Jerky motion while braking

My GLE450 has a rather annoying habit/
While braking the vehicle down shifts causing multiple jerky not smooth deceleration.
Is obvious to me its a programing error.
Dealer could not duplicate. will not allow me to demonstrate. Said codes ok.
Called MB....their suggestion was to go yo another dealer.

Concur, take your business elsewhere. That said are you driving in sport mode, the downshifts will be more abrupt and "sporty". Does it do it when you drive in economy mode, the transmission is programmed to let the vehicle glide and not engine brake as much?

I agree. I also suggest that the OP spend some time near the dealership, looking for a road/location where duplication of the issue is reliably repeatable. Then insist a Tech, SA or Service Manager ride and drive to make sure they CAN duplicate.

It's frustrating, but they do have to experience the problem in order to fix it. Same would be true with a washing machine (except for the road...).

Could also try resetting the adaptive transmission so that it will relearn your style. I don't have any links but if your search YouTube, you can find out how to do it. I had the herky jerky shifting as well and it's dramatically better after the reset. Still not as smooth as I'd like but greatly improved.

Curious, did they say how they did it? I wonder if their tool does the same thing that the ignition key and gas pedal procedure does. It surely wouldn't hurt to give the YouTube process a go of you haven't already.
