So my gle350 is equipped with gesture control whereby you can assign certain functions when you raise your hand to the rear view mirror with a “V” or peace sign. It was acting buggy and the dealer reflashed the software. But now it doesn’t recognize the hand gesture at all. But it does recognize movement by turning on the passenger seat light when reaching over, or highlighting the radio or other buttons when moving towards the screen etc. it just doesn’t recognize the V specific assignment. I’ve tried reassigning to different commands (ie seat massage etc). Dealer is stumped. Any ideas

 

Mine pretty much does that too. Once or twice during the last two years it worked, but I have no idea how or why.

 

I understand it uses a camera, perhaps outgassing from the plastic surrounding the camera (due heating in the sun) has clouded the camera. Try cleaning the lens—did the dealer tech try that?

 

Another useless gimmick no one really needed or asked for. Gotta keep up with the Joneses (other auto manufacturers).
