Where did the service go?

The other day I got in my car and it said something about needing service soon, like it is supposed to do. If I remember correctly it was about 1600 miles out. Well now it’s gone. Nothing when I start up the SUV. Nothing when I scroll through the menus. No messages that I can find. Under service, then messages, there is nothing. Wouldn’t it be in messages if it needed service? Do I need to look somewhere else?
Since nothing is there, I think I’m going to wait to service it.

Not sure why it would come up and then go away. The service intervals are time or mileage based, though, whichever comes first, so it may have for a moment thought that you gonna hit the mileage target soon, but then based on your recent driving it now thinks your next service will be at the 12 month mark or vice versa. Depending on how much you drive it can ping pong between the next service being due based on another 12 months passed, or 10k miles driven. You can always see when the next service is due in the Mercedes me connect app by going to Service. If your next service is time based, then it'll give you an exact date when the service is due, otherwise it'll be an estimate based on your average mileage. I think the time based reminder in the car comes up every time the car is started for the 30 days leading up to the service. For mileage based I think it's 1000 miles to service if I remember correctly.

Forgot about technology and just looked at the app. I’m 1647 out. It was popping up before I was in NYC all last week and this week it’s gone. I knew it used driving style too to guesstimate the service time needed so I guess it sensed I wasn’t driving it last week and changed the service time needed. I just thought it would have at least stayed in the message center though. I didn’t realize the SUV was smart enough to rethink its service interval.
Thanks.

No, the message center only keeps messages since the last engine start. If the message goes away and doesn't pop up again the next time you start the engine, then it won't be there.

Yes sounds like it thought you were due for service in 30 days, but then you drove more and now it thinks you gonna hit 10k miles sooner and it changed the service interval and will start reminding you again once you are 1000 miles out, unless you gonna stop driving again which then pushes the interval back out to the 12 months mark. If you are close on both the time and mileage intervals then driving or not driving just a few miles could make it bounce back and forward. I'm generally clearly in the mileage interval or the time interval, so I haven't seen this happen. Since the pandemic all my services have been time based. It starts out telling me service is due in x miles right after the car gets serviced, but then eventually when it realizes that my average mileage is so low that I'll hit the 12 months mark first, it changes the service due to 12 months after the last service and stays there.
