Where to connect battery trickle charger/maintainer?

Has anyone installed a battery maintainer/charger on their GLE? Does it connect to the jumper terminal under the hood or directly to the battery under the driver's seat? I travel often for long periods of time so I like to make sure I never run into any dead battery issues upon my return.

Chargers connect to the terminals under the hood. There's also a standby mode that many are not aware of for long term storage, because have to read the owner's manual where all this is answered and more. It can be activated in MBUX and the nice thing is it tells you exactly how many weeks you can leave the car w/o the battery getting critical. Don't have a pic from MBUX, but below is what it looks like in my C63. With a fully charged battery I get 21 weeks, which is more than enough for any of my trips.

So I followed the directions from the manual and I didn't see any STANDBY options listed under VEHICLE settings. Anyone else see this on their V167?

Not mine. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

The owners manual says that it's not available on all models, and I suspect that the 48V system nixes the standby mode, because the car is started from the 48V battery and the trickle charger primarily charges the 12V battery. The 12V battery is needed to start the car as it powers the electronics, but it's not needed to power the starter motor, so it's not as critical.
