Need some advice! I知 deciding between a 2024 GLE 53 and GLE 450.

Just test drove the GLE450 both coupe and SUV models. Coming from the current AMG owner unless you go for top end AMG (GLE63s), the AMG wanna be models (C43, GLE53 .... etc) doesn't really give you a sports car experience.
For me as long as GLE has the airmatic option, don't really care about the AMG looks body kits, remember Merc is famous for comfort.

CarGurus is pretty good with inventory so just put your zip in the search and you'll get a good idea of what is available around you.

Pardon if I missed it being posted someplace, but I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a DOG that includes the 580 SUV. If it's not still MIA, would appreciate a link to it. Thanks.

They do exist. Not sure about ordering, but there are few 2023s on the ground now. 4 within 200 miles of Boston

That said though, GLE 580 isn't available in Canada since we always get the short-end of the stick, I guess.

Don't be jealous as we don't since our regulations when it comes to cars follows US regulations most of the time, including the amber reflector in the headlight, the bumperette, the European headlight function/feature is disabled. Not to mention likely you can enable it with an OBD module? Unlike the GLE 580 variant, if it is not offered here, you can't get it unless you import but it is not that simple.

I guess you "can(?)" be jealous about having hatchbacks here but that too is going away, I wish the CLS was a lift back...

I guess then it comes down to if you want a V8 or an inline-6 German inline-6 are just smooth in my opinion. The 450 with the mild-hybrid system with the electric motor helps with acceleration and it does that pretty well, the 53 on the sporty side shares the same engine as the 450 but a different tune and different components such as the additional supercharger and such, the transmission is obviously tuned differently but like you all mentioned, sacrifice in ride quality. No run-flats, high profile tires will help, downsizing tires will help. Otherwise the 450 really is not a bad choice it is the version to get if 350 isn't enough power.

I see, I thought this was optional even in Canada. They did make the 2020 (or 2021) C 63 S' performance exhaust standard but didn't know they did the same for GLE 53.

I had same dilema choosing between 450 and 53.
Could pick almost perfect, low mileage, pre-owned 53 for same price as brand new 450 with set of options I prefer.
Decided for 450.
Smoothness of ride is my main concern and 53 with air-suspension was harsher than 450 with steel springs.
I picked AMG exterior, no chrome, added few nice aftermarket touches (front lip, Panamericana grill, AMG 63 style quad tip exhaust/diffuser few others, all together around 1.1k) and car looks nice, but drives comfortably.
With exception of the exterior I didn't find anything else in 53 that I would actually need (more sportive engine and handling do not match my driving style).
Very satisfied with the choice.

I see, I guess you either worry about the longevity of the engine or worry about the longevity of that 48V battery, keep in mind that 48V battery powers the cooling systems too so if that fails the car won't drive at all. I believe depending on your State, they might have a battery warranty of 8? years but you need to check with your state.
