Oh yes hyper blue! Thing is personally for me I don't like showy colours but I got to admit that is a nice colour, otherwise I would myself get something understated like lunar blue and nautical blue.
It does seem to be getting better on the newer models.
I’d have a hard time believing my dealers paint correct every car including CLAs to hide orange peel. Based off what I’ve seen it’s getting better for the most part. Sure it’s not as smooth as it used to but they seem to be making improvements.

I feel you. I like color combos you don’t see too often. I’ve gotten bored of the sea of white, grey and black. I also am not a fan of super showy colors like yellow or orange. I find hyper blue to pop enough to be classy and sporty at the same time, all without being too “new money” in your face look at me like that yellow they offer. Hyper blue over macchiato is my favorite. Simply elegant and reminds me of a Côte D’Azur/Riviera color combo. After all an SL belongs on a high end beach strip, it’s what the car has become known for lol
I do love their darker blues too. The new starling blue is amazing and I’m really sad they’re getting away from lunar blue as I currently own a car in it with a beige interior. A color combo that I get many compliments about because it’s not super common and just has enough pop to it.

Same, I mean I like to be understated but I don't want to completely blend in, or very least I want the car to be different (lunar blue at close but only when looking at far that it doesn't like blue). For that reason I didn't like brilliant blue that much but I don't completely mind it at the same time. As for yellow and orange I understand, emerald green is another nice and elegant colour in my opinion and it works in many MB models and body styles like sedan or SUVs. There is also Rose Gold, not sure what I think about that though.
Same but seems like they are just using nautical blue to replace it.

Yeah nautical blue is pretty similar but it doesn’t look like the C will get it, looks like the darkest we will get is the new twilight blue that they have in the EQS. It’s kind of looks like a lighter denim, I don’t know if I’m a fan. Also completely agreed emerald green, when I was looking for my car it was one my favorites along with lunar blue and Mojave silver. I like the rose gold, think it’s pretty cool, but it’s not one in spec my car in.

I see, is twilight closer to Denim Blue on the A-Class than the Nautical blue? Lunar blue was always so elegant in my opinion, if Denim Blue it is not as elegant I guess.
Talking about the orange peel issue... how should we deal with it during body work?
Left my weeks-old Twilight Blue EQE at Costco parking and when I returned 45 minutes later, noticed this on the door. I understand door dings and dents happen, but just cannot figure out how they managed to peel off the paint like this... (or maybe it's MB factory paint job which is subpar and not that resilient? Seems the paint just peeled away from the primer).
Anyways, I took the car to a friend's body shop and they fixed the dent and paint. They did an excellent job with the finish, almost too excellent since now that door panel is very smooth and shiny and nice while the rest of the car has the factory orange peel finish!! It's not that noticeable unless you look closely at a reflection. Should I just move on, or ask them to try to match the orange peel of the factory paint (which if I understand correctly, is in fact a factory paint defect)?

Can most likely have the car paint corrected and it'll match.
