E-Active suspension with Road Surface Scan finally working!
Here are various pics of my cameras if anyone is curious. I took close-up pics to see if my lenses were clouded but they appear clean to me. Just to note, the camera shrouds are black but my flash really distorts the color. Also, any idea what the little circle is below the stereo cameras?
Also, sorry Greg and maalox regarding your E-ABC situations. I would be in a fit with my dealer.
What is the circle sensor?
Your cameras are super clean! Don’t think you had any issues with the heater pad/off gassing from the camera lens hoods. The small circle is the rain sensor for automatic wipers.
I initially was looking at the pictures on my phone with some glare, and misunderstood what dual cameras everyone was talking about and what was blanked out. Here's a picture of mine.
I thought it was the circular one in wildta's post #25 circled in red in the first image, as it appears asymmetrical (i.e. its seems there "should" be a second circular camera on the other side, below the 2 triangular sections with the stereo cameras).

I have the $6,500.00 EABC option on my 2022 S580 sedan. It worked over speed bumps for maybe four months, then stopped. Took it to Fletcher Jones, the largest MB dealer in the country and they proclaimed the system to be “functioning as designed.” It still did not handle speed bumps. A few months later, I got the camera malfunctioning message. Took it in again and they went through the cleaning of the “fogged” inner windshield surface. The message went away, but the system still does not make speed bumps “disappear,” like it did when the car was new.
Prior to my current S Class, I had three S Class sedans, 2015,18 & 20 with Magic Body Control, or MBC, which was basically the earlier Active Body Control or ABC, but with the addition of a camera to scan the road surface. The MBC system worked over speed bumps about half the time, probably because the camera just wasn’t sensitive enough. However, the ride quality of the older MBC was WAY better than my current EABC car—INCREDIBLY BETTER!
My feeling is that as of late, MB has been bringing technology to market way before it has been thoroughly and properly sorted. These hugely expensive options and they end up being nothing but trouble. I guess with the SUV’s they just threw in the towel with EABC. Sure wish they had just continued with the tried & reasonably true MBC in the new S Class models. Why they never put MBC in the GLE’s or GLS’s is a mystery. Oh well.

I had plenty of problems with my '20, camera and sensor related (I guess) but the suspension did "as advertised," and I could charge dips and bumps with impunity.
As a side note, AMG Ride Control does better on one-sided potholes than the E-ABC, but E-ABC handles full-width speed dips and RR crossings better.
(My '20 450, very loaded at $93,800, was returned. I miss it.)
