Although one poster said his car was new and therefore dismissed a weak key battery.

But before I'd dismiss the entire car, I'd spend three bucks on a new battery to make sure that's not the culprit.

The symptoms just sound like a weak key battery.

Once that possibility is eliminated, it might point to the key's signal receiver inside or outside the car. I think there are six.

So, to update this. MB BE still hasn't gotten back to me, maybe in a year or so.

Meanwhile, I've managed to get Xentry working, and instantly saw the "auto-on" setting there. A bit more troubleshooting, and now managed to code it out in DTS Monaco Now I can leave the car unlocked for a few hours, walk up to it without a key on me, and open it up without an alarm going off. Glorious.

If anyone wants me to do a proper write-up of what to change and how, let me know.
