OBD II diagnostic tool.

Does anyone have first hand experience and recommendations on a OBD tool to read fault codes, reset
CEL, ETC.? Difficult to determine which availability device’s actually work with Mercedes GLE.
Looking for basic DIY level for occasional use…not pro level….Thanks.

I purchased a couple inexpensive ones from automotive stores, but none of them worked. Then I was having a descrete radar detector installed, and I noticed the tech had one. He used on my car and it worked. So I purchased it from Amazon. Link below...

Good Luck in resolving your issue.

If you are looking for something a bit nicer - larger screen, bidirectional control, nice graphics easy to use.
I've used the XTool D7 with success:
Amazon Amazon
However, the Indi's that I have used swear by the Autel systems - faster, and they say they simply work better and do more (but also cost more).

Both give you bidirectional functionality so you can actively test/change things like open/close pcv valve, program keys, run test utilities from the OEM etc in addition to reading and resetting codes. Running a diagnostic util that safely tests a bunch of things is very helpful as well as selecting live data to monitor and things like that.

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
Does this one work on the V167 GLE?
