How long from final inspection at factory to dealership delivery GLE 53 AMG Coupe

My GLE 53 AMG coupe is supposed to be delivered on the 17th/18th and the build date was supposed to be the 8th. I was told on Saturday that the car is still sitting at the factory for final inspection. How long does it typically take from the final inspection to delivery at the dealership? For reference I am in Florida (Tampa Bay Area). My last experience with a build was my 2021 GLE 350, build date was October 2020 with delivery in December 2020, car got delayed until end of February 2021 and I kept getting the runaround until I got fed up and reached out to MB Corporate because they couldn’t give me an estimate of when my GLE would get to the dealership. Thankfully no options were removed/swapped at that time.

However, now my red/black interior was swapped out for all black for the 53 AMG Coupe due to “supply restraints”. Kinda bummed about that because I wanted something different, but I can probably live with it.

When did you learn that your interior color got swapped out? Before or after the build date?

I found out Tuesday, the 10th. I m not 100% sure if it was after build or during. Also I was not allowed to change it from black. I was hoping to change it to the beige/black because I do like the two tone.

After many delays, it finally shows my GLE 53 Coupe is "ready for delivery" and I was told it was assigned to a transporter 2 days ago. About how long does it take for delivery once the car is assigned to a transporter?

It would be better if the dealership gave you a status report pdf export for your PO...

Here is the excerpt from my PO, destination was Massachusetts:

ZSRT 2023-11-13 Rail in transit
ZDOR 2023-11-13 Domestic Rail Tender
ZMLP 2023-11-11 Monroney Label Print Complete
ZMD2 2023-11-09 Local Option Change
ZAWP 2023-11-08 Accessory Work In Progress at VPC
ZLVP 2023-11-08 Local Vehicle Production

The car showed up at the dealership on December 1st. So, about 3 weeks from production date and 2.5 weeks from rail tender. It was marked as "Priority 1" by the dealer, which I believe is relatively standard for orders with assigned customers. It took 2 months door-to-door, from when we customized the allocation and put a deposit down to final delivery.

Mine was on some factory freeze according to PO printout. Mine had the last two updates before I got the update today:ZFSC 2023-08-29 Factory Final Freeze-No Differences

ZFDC 2023-08-28 Factory Decade Freeze - No Differences
I am trying to get another printout of the PO thing to confirm that the car is actually assigned to a transport and is actually on the way. I am in Florida so I do not think it would take long for it to get to the dealership from the factory.

I actually got a few more updates today when I asked for proof it was assigned to a transporter.

ZMLP • 2023-12-18 • Monroney Label Print Complete
ZDDL • 2023-12-16 • DMY to DLR carrier tender
ZINV • 2023-12-16 • Invoice verification
ZSTK • 2023-12-15 • Add Stock number
ZLVP - 2023-12-14 • Local Vehicle

So I guess this is a good sign that the car should arrive pretty soon. The factory is not that far from the dealership, so I think it could potentially arrive before Christmas.

Thanks. Do y’all think it’ll arrive this week based on these updates? I’m not sure how long they typically take at this point.

There’s no real way of knowing since logistics vary. Your Dealer should have an estimate now that the car is built.. if not today, soon. Mine was originally scheduled for December 11 but actually arrived three days late.

Mine was originally scheduled for October, but there were factory freezes and it finally started moving a few days ago. I’m in Florida which isn’t that far from the plant in Alabama. My sales guy said it’ll be here this week but I’m skeptical because he kept saying that since October.

IT'S HERE! Originally it was supposed to arrive on Saturday but it came in yesterday. It is crazy how many different colors come out of the Twilight Blue depending on the sunlight. After driving it about 45ish miles I am loving it! Definitely nicer than my prior GLE 350!

Great Looking vehicle congratulations! Interior looks great any regrets not getting the Exclusive Nappa leather? I’d guess your dash and upper door materials are more durable and less likely to show scuff marks.

Best Wishes!

So far no regrets, but it's only been about 15 hours since I bought it lol. My prior GLE 350 had the MB-Tex/DINAMICA seats which were softer so the seats in this car feel firmer. I am hoping after a few months when they get broken in they will get softer.

Congratulations and happy upcoming holidays! The color is great and it does change significantly based on lighting conditions (I got the same one).
