GLS63 22” Wheels to fit GLE450 21” wheels

Hi,
Need advice of the group. I am looking to buy 22 “ wheels and tires from a 2021 GLS63 for my 2020 GLE450 with 21” AMG wheels 275/45/21 and 315/40/21
The wheels and tires off the GLS63 are
Bolt pattern is 5 x 112
Tires are Yokohama Advan Sport
285/45 ZR22
325/40 ZR22
appreciate feedback on whether these will fit the GLE. Thanks

Without the GLS wheel offset and wheel width information, there’s no way to know. Google for an online calculator and put in the specs for both sets to see how they compare.

I recall when I purchased my 2020 GLE450, I saw a GLS at the dealer and it had the same wheels as my 450, only larger. I think they were 21". I asked my dealer if those would fit on the GLE and he said no.

GLS63 offsets (285/45/22 offset 43-46 and 325/40/22 offset 45-49)

GLE450 offset (275/45/21 offset 52-56 and 315/40/21 offset 47-51)

???. The offset is going to be a number like et53…meaning it is 53mm from center. Most on a Mercedes will be positive. This determines how each wheel moves in toward the brake calipers or farther out toward the fender.
The wheel width is less important but can be a factor for clearances.

Edit-sorry the offsets didn’t open the first time but do now.

The GLE with 22” wheel specs are:
F 285/40r22 10” wheels et 56/58 vs et 45
R 325/35r22 11” wheels et 52 vs et 47
If you have the AMG body then clearances will be similar on your 450. The wheel width difference is negligible since it’s positioned farther away from the body GLS wheels..
The GLS should clear inside but might not on the outer fender wells in front where the GLS tires will sit about 1/2” farther out.
Speedometer will read a few % low…not a big deal.

There’s a slim possibility they might work without rubbing but….

The stock OEM 22s for GLEs require AIRMATIC, I’d check deeper into all sizes.

On my 53, the closest clearances are between the tire and the front suspension upright.
It's hard to measure, but I want more front tire, and that seems to be critical point to consider.
FWIW.

I just ran a straight edge on mine & there does not appear to be enough clearance on the outer front fender well. The tire would probably hit the outer fender on bumps and maybe turning.
You might check your vehicle to see if it’s any different-if you move the front tire 11-13 mm farther out. My notes have the 21” front wheel at et 54 on 10” wheels. The 21’ is 275 wide vs 285 on the 22” so the 22” tread would also be 5mm wider on each side than the 21” if my math is correct.

GLS 580
23” Option

I’ve got a new GLS 580 w 23s should you have any interest in a trade for 21” wheels? They happen to have nearly new Pirellis as well.
