Presently 19 S560 SEDAN, 2014 XK, SOLD GLE 450e
Mostly pleased. My biggest gripe is the touch pad replacing the 'Control knob', The touch pads on the steering wheel do not respond to areas on the finger that are somewhat calloused. Sometimes I have to wet my fingers fo the small pads and large pad to respond. I ordered the car and am very please it has the acoustic glass like a S Model has. Quiet car. Love there I can touch Favorites and turn the center display OFF without killing the radio. I don't like bright lights from the dispaly when driving at night.
Do not like the Twighlight blue vs the Lunar Blue I had on a ML350 350 Bluetec. The Twilight is nice but maybe should have gotten the green exterior, but I'm a sucker for most Blue colors.
Dislike the 17.2 fuel tank vs a 24.6 fuel tank, but I know why that is (batt size) and will have to adapt to stopping more offten when traveiing. Auto dimming seems to work better each year with Mercedes. Jaguar AUTO dimming was always good on the XJL., Fuel milage is not all that good, but if you can shell out 84k for a vehicle, why does 22 mpg bother you so much? That's at a 75 mph speed for a couple hundred miles vs how bad it could get at 80-85, The EQS taught me to drive at 75 mph, because you couldn't get to the next Elecrrify America.
Down to one S560, one XK Jaguar and this GLE 450e.

2017 GLE350 4MATIC
Hello,
I am looking for replacing my Range Rover Sport, the new version is very expensive (over $200k), so I look for alternatives around 150k new, like the GLE53. I already own an S550 W222 and I like it but it’s too long (L), too low and not very good for my daily drive in snow (I live in a ski resort), so I use it only for long trips.
So, I wonder, how do you feel about GLE ownership?
Thanks!

No. That is why I got rid of it with only 12k on the motor after experiencing the teething problems. Maybe when they get the 7 seat on the phev version with a trailer hitch.....just maybe...

Manufactuer Paint Defect
My 2024 - GLE 450 just got it a couple of weeks ago. I didn't notice until the sun came out you could see I light streak on the hood. Those robot sprayers they use had some sort of weird thing happen as it was spraying the selenite grey. I am pretty sure all that came out that week probably had the same issue. You can only see it in the sunlight. I have had it in the shop for 3 days they called me today because it raining in there garage and said they cant see it. I have to wait for the sun to come out for them to see it. Its bizarre. I am wondering if I should even have it fixed. What do you think? Car rides nice. I may keep it for a little.

Definitely have Mercedes-Benz take care of it. It's under warranty. They will have it polished.
Had a paint blemish on the rear-left fender flare. They took care of it. Had it ceramic coated shortly after.

Thanks. Just know it will never be the same after they get done. They say it will be perfect, but I dont believe them. Paint match, hood realignment after taking off. Will show on car reports now that it had body work. It sucks, but what can you do. I will get it fixed when the sun comes out again

Unless your hood is damaged where it would need to come off to be repaired or replaced, your dealership will hire a local specialist to go in and polish it. Believe it or not, this is a common practice before or after delivery to alleviate the unsightly orange peel that is common on all vehicles since switching to water-based paints (this practice in itself is a subject of contention).
In my case (similar blemish to yours), not only was the fender flare polished, but the whole car as well as I had the dealership ceramic coat it which required paint correction to remove imperfections from manufacturer paint processes and previous user abuse.

If it's just orange peel, then you are correct - a correction (polishing) can remove it.
But if it involves the depth and orientation of the metallic particles, polishing probably won't help.
I would get a careful measurement of the depth of your paint, before and after to see if you've lost too much clear coat.
I'd also get a second opinion trusted body shop about the cause of the strange reflection, before I'd let anybody polish anything.
I'm not a fan of polishing because it removes paint. I like my paint. It's a last resort.

There is no other way to fix the streak in mine other than completely removing the hood and painting the entire hood and reassembling. There not going to send it out for polishing. Car has 300 miles on it. They know it has to be right, but still very bothersome

Don't let up. Definitely exercise your warranty. Don't over think it either. Let the professionals decide what needs to be done and make sure the SA informs and explains to you what the procedure is before they do it. If you don't like it you can request alternatives.

If it requires a complete re-spray, then I can understand your reason to have reservations. I would not be so concerned on the fit after they put the hood back as this is something that can be adjusted to perfection, but rather, the paint process instead (exact paint match and metallic flake pattern, number of coats, curing, etc). I would request a meeting with both service advisor and service manager and have them go over what the process is. Expectation is at the absolute highest level.

Quite happy with the 450 but the vehicle isn't perfect. My biggest complaint is the crappy transmission: it downshifts very poorly, especially in Sport mode.
2nd biggest complaint is the vehicle software. Even before it first came out MB heavily advertised connected features and scalable next gen "digital experience".
Nothing has been added or improved on the software side, ever. The shift from ATT to TMob was done poorly but that goes more to MB rather than the GLE.
Still love the exterior / interior design but other than that the car aged quick compared to what's on the market today, and MB refuses to update & fix software.
Sadly the new MB EV's are ugly and overpriced, and I'm on the path to migrating to Porsche anyway as they have done it right IMHO.

Our 350e GLE is not as perfect as it should… driver seat did not get warm. Second were rgb lights ( worked only on driver door), fuel filler flap got stuck, two service action. Now I need internet certificate reset and brakes are really poor, i think they are about 20% of power. So…. Our GLA35 AMG is good as it should.

GLE Windshield Wiper Fluid
Not sure. My car is just a little over a year old and the windshield wiper fluid stopped working. We called the dealer and they said if it's the filter it would not be covered under the warranty.

Just replaced my 21’ GLE350 amg spec (45k) with a 24’ GLE63.
Originally bought it for my SO but loved it so much I started driving it daily.
Personally love the vehicle and think they fixed a lot of the annoyances in the face lift. Although I’m only 300 miles into the new one. lol

We have a 21 GLE350 with AMG body kit. Just turned 29k miles and no issues but sunroof guides being off and the shade jamming. Has been fixed 3 times by dealer. Drivetrain and chassis have been great, i change the oil every 4k-5k and it has no consumption.
Pirelli Scorpions have been surprisingly good too wearing very well considering rotations are not possible. The very basic M264 engine is perfect for in town use and makes a great daily driver.
